We have all heard that a new stadium will be used 24/7 to help bring in much needed revenue.
So why not get people used to coming to Rovers for events and gradually build up a list of clients?
We all know the Mem is not the best but no world cup, Fathers day, car boot sales, chicken in a basket entertainment evenings, summer skittles tournaments, ladies day at Ascot, etc etc. Surely we would have at least made a small profit on all of these events.
People need to get in the habit of going to the Rovers stadium. We seem to be falling in the trap of believing the story "if you build it, they will come". We need marketing staff to be pro active and go out and get new business now and we seem to be failing miserably.
Perhaps if the FC don't (can't?) Organise anything maybe the SC should try and run something.
The Mem has several bars so why dont they get at least one open for the Belgium game. Surely someone out there has bar experience and health and safety certs and would volunteer to man the bars to save on club wages?
With an on the spot 50/50 draw then surely this would make money? The FC can't be that badly organised that it would make a loss?
