Who we all hoping for first and last game of the season then?
I'm hoping for Sunderland away first game of the season and Luton at home the last.
No doubt we'll get like barnsley and Blackpool away on Tuesday nights.

Coventry, Portsmouth or Sunderland away would be good for our first game, somewhere where we can take good numbers to.
Having home games on Boxing day and the end of the season would also be preferable.

It would be nice to have a home game but I doubt it will happen due to the balloon fiesta. City will be away on the second weekend because of the balloon fiesta so they will be home on the first weekend, meaning we will be away. Shrewsbury away would be good as we have a bad record against them away so playing them early after the disappointing end to their great season could be a good time especially while they be getting use to a new manager.

I wondered when this thread would appear....
Defo Sunderland away 1st game, best chance to catch them cold before they get used to the level
Also only new ground to visit this season

Whoever it is, it will be home game to start after the last two starts being away. Unless we’ve asked to be away for some reason. From above are we always away when it’s the balloon festival? Seems a bit unfair to be away three seasons on the trot. But I quite like an away match to start and have been to Scunthorpe and Charlton last two seasons and had a good time. UTG!

All teams have to play each other home and away.

Peterborough away, we always seem to play them early on in the season so seems like a solid guess. I'll guess something like P'borough (A), Oxford (H), Luton (A), Fleetwood (H), Plymouth (A).

Sunderland away tues night guaranteed! In early January when we’re all skint and it’s cold dark and raining with the possibility of it being postponed.

Sunderland away tues night guaranteed! Having just read EFL website on fixtures they say that they try and ensure local well attended matches are on a Saturday. Conversely we can assume the difficult to attend away games will be midweek. This would be more noticeable to us in comparison to the northern teams who are more concentrated in distribution. Hence the midweek games at Sheffield and Bolton in recent times. So the Sunderland game will have a high possibility of being midweek unless a request is made by the club's. So we're not just unlucky it's how the EFL choose to operate.

Accrington at home is a nice first home match though.
