Whoever it is, it will be home game to start after the last two starts being away. Unless we’ve asked to be away for some reason. From above are we always away when it’s the balloon festival? Seems a bit unfair to be away three seasons on the trot. But I quite like an away match to start and have been to Scunthorpe and Charlton last two seasons and had a good time. UTG! Why is it unfair? All teams have to play each other home and away. Read what I said. “Seems a bit...” we obviously ask to play away so probably our choice and as you say in the end we play home and away. Most teams alternate home and away for first fixture. UTG!

Sunderland away Saturday December 15th, Boxing Day we travel to Walsall, Barnsley away on the last day of the season. Home last game Peterborough yet again though - how many times has this been the first game in recent years?! And we always get banged.

Yep!
I'd expect 10/15 points from August though, no reason we can't get that as a minimum

Peterborough away, we always seem to play them early on in the season so seems like a solid guess. I'll guess something like P'borough (A), Oxford (H), Luton (A), Fleetwood (H), Plymouth (A). I got the rest of it wrong but opening day called perfectly!

Think you've got it a bit wrong about the balloon fiesta Wareham. We're always at home when it's on and it's more likely the police insist that the teds are away that weekend, rather than us asking to be away first match.

No, I've read it right. "Seems a bit..." makes no difference. I see no advantage to playing away or home first game as we all have to play each other home and away at some point. We wouldn't have chose to be away first game, it it because of the balloon festival is the following weekend, and City obviously can't play at home the same weekend as that.

If I remember correctly we played them first at the start of our 06/07 promotion season and also the season we were relegated from league one, 10/11. We got smashed on both those occasions but the season had two completely different outcomes!

We would like to do it but it's one hell of a journey.

Taking a leisurely drive there and back. Having said that, Altrincham (16/08/2014) and Blackburn (25/11/2017) was a nightmare driving on the Friday.

I don' like playing Accie and Wycombe at the beginning of season - tough games. A good balance of big teams at home throughout the season. Bring it on .....and the signings !! ha ha
