I'm cycling up to save money, leaving in October. Good plan - those scamming bastards at Halfords have seen the fixture list and will put the price of bikes up near Christmas to specifically target Rovers fans doing the same thing.

Fly Exeter to Amsterdam, then ferry across to Newcastle on a super saver fare, jump on the # 27 city hopper bus to Sunderland. It's 3 quid cheaper, and if you go to Roker park they'll let you in for fckall.

Looks as though Easyjet are cashing in....
Fly up on Fri 14th, 3 flights available 2 costing £165 and the later one costing £175...
Fly back on Sunday 16th, again- 3 flights available, 2 costing £149 and the later one costing £165...
Robbing, profiteering B@stards!!
No, it's just supply and demand. With loads of empty seats, the price is low. As the seats are taken, and there are fewer available, the price goes up ! Standard practice with every airline in the world. Exactly. That's why ive never understood why people complain about ticket prices going up when a club gets better facilities, becomes more successful etc. The same concept.

I just hope and prey that the date does not get changed for those booking flights.
Those buggers at Sky/BT have a habit of not caring for football supporters.
This match could be a candidate for "live" broadcast.

The FA Cup dates are usually first weekend in Nov for 1st round, first weekend in Dec for 2nd round, and first weekend in Jan for 3rd Round. That's usually how it goes, so should be the same this year.

This match could be a candidate for "live" broadcast. Both teams would have to be top 6 for that to even be a possibility plus it would normally have to be international weekend, which I don't believe that it is. Rovers v Sunderland at the Mem is a more likely TV candidate.

Drive up Friday afternoon, stay in Newcastle, take the metro down to Sunderland for the match, Saturday night back in the toon, breakfast Sunday morning in Newcastle and then a leisurely drive back to Bristol, in the local by early evening. Will be there with three of my sons, tremendous. UTG

The Sh1!heads would love that.

I’ve just checked and you can hire the Matthew, although as pirates we could “borrow” it and sail round the coast to Wearside. According to Ports.com it’s quicker to go round Lands End, up the English Channel and follow the North Sea coast, and it should only take 3.7 days at 10 knots, or just over a week at 5 knots. What could be better than a cruise with all your Gaschat favourites, drinking from kegs, sharing a cabin with another bald middle-aged man, listening to Bolder’s tales and learning about breast lines, baggy-wrinkles, spreaders and hanks. Oh, and not forgotting the sensation of salty spray on your face. Who would want to fly when you could experience all that!

Surely the best bet is to drive up there very early on Saturday, and get there in time for lunch and a pint or three (apart from poor Mr Driver of course). All this messing about with expensive fights via Amsterdam is too complicated and expensive. Or book a seat on the train very early on the Friday. They don't generally let you book seats online more than three months in advance, so on September 15th, get clicking. There may well be some very cheap deals if done quick enough.

I recall them playing us at Twerton and Eastville. They should be high. They probably thought they'd be getting back to life in the Premiership this season, not slogging it out in League 1.
