No, it's just supply and demand. With loads of empty seats, the price is low. As the seats are taken, and there are fewer available, the price goes up ! Standard practice with every airline in the world.

As there are only 2 seats taken on the whole plane for the flight up suggests that the base price is ridiculously high when compared to a week day.

I was on a charter flight coming from Egypt to Germany a couple of years ago, and a fight broke out with a woman shouting at the bloke in the seat in front of her, for farting ! It fair made me chuckle I can tell you !

May be completely wrong but if I select the flight I am then able to select seats from basically the whole plane (charhebale amd feee) with the exception of 2?

I know a few people who got in early and got return for 90 quid, by half 10 it was 200+ for a return.

The prices for Friday to Monday are £100 cheaper as they are for the weekend before, they've clearly put the tickets up based on the fixture list if only two seats have been booked.

Generally the seat selection maps don't give you much of an idea on flight loads. Many people don't select seats when booking a flight. Even more so on Easyjet flights where you have to pay to select a seat. for such a short flight many people just wait to be allocated a seat at check in for free. A few quick bookings this morning (which would have been unusual for this flight) would have triggered something in their system which in turn raises the prices.

flybe - Exeter - Newcastle £114 return at the moment. Depart Friday - Return Sunday - sensible times both ways.

This is where people have to open their minds a bit. Exeter - Newcastle has already been mention. Cardiff - Newcastle is another easy option. Are there Bournemouth - Newcastle flights?
