As long as fans keep coughing up £££s for Sky sports etc, it will continue I'm not into this trend of blaming it all on Sky. First off, Sky have been fantastic. Us old 'uns remember the days when the only live games you saw on tv were the FA Cup Final and possibly one England game a year ! We never saw England play a cricket Test match overseas, nor did we see the British Lions play. Sky changed all of that. Most of the blame should go to the politicians who decided that carving the football up into packages, and then selling those packages to the highest bidder. Do you really think Sky want to pay something like 3 billion a year to show Prem games? But they have to. In the meantime, the cost of games for the punter is rising due to the multiple channels that now can show games. Believe me, Sky really don't want to pay so much, but they have been forced to by the authorities. Don't blame Sky, blame those that have forced the price up! Also, even though there are Sky Germany, Sky Italy and Sky Spain, Sky do not pay huge money to the Spanish, Italian or German clubs, but clubs in those countries still pay huge wages! Did you just say cricket?

Pretty sure a pundit, Merson, Stelling, that sort, said a year or so ago, that any player who has even a minimum 1 year contract with a Premiership Club, is a millionaire. Through signing on fee, sponsorship and salary. I can remember Trevor Francis being the first £1 mil player and everyone gasping at Alan Shearer being on £20k a week. It's gone too far. As long as fans keep coughing up £££s for Sky sports etc, it will continue Until the European super league starts....... with no promotion to and from it...... Watch the money drain away from the premiership then

They've done some good business, bought a few players, sold them, home grown players, and sold them. All for 10's of Millions combined. We can say what we want, but they have paid off large chunk of thier stadium cost selling 4 players. When selling ours wed be lucky to buy a family bag of Walkers Crisps.

A yo-yo midtable/struggling 2nd tier/3rd Division club. The only difference is they've built a stand with the same capacity as The Mem.

Bristol City 1982 have done nothing to deserve this. They owe everything to him. On the other hand, just as we should have been bravely counter attacking, we managed to drop out of the football league and cock up every stadium plan we ever developed. We handed it to him on a plate really. Our late late comeback was the new owners arriving. A couple of years down the road, and it's not looking good, but it's not definitely bad. Yet. A major announcement soon might just swing things round. Probably not though.
