Flint to Boro - £7mil Now Reid to Cardiff - £10mil. I like the Reid one, a bit of karma. Losing a key player to a bitter rival. Reid is a home grown player too so it must be a kick in the balls that. I expect Joe Bryan will be next... Who cares ? You do because you have read the tread ??

Reid's had one good season and has one year left on his contract. Seems good business really. Hope they water it up the wall though

Feels like they are selling their soul to the devil a bit though. I think being a Home grown player and selling to a rival is what is worse about it for them.

Thread title - attention seeking (again) Opinion of player - randomly expressed during the middle of summer (funny that a Rovers fan is hoping City lose a key player) Lack of proper team name used - who are "Boro"? Aww cute try hard, hun 😘😘 Not Rovers related. Mods please move.

Firstly - I don't get these Rovers fans who don't care about how City get on at all. Secondly - If you really don't care about them, then just ignore and swiftly move on. Thankyou 😘

Good business for them, made BIGGG profits.

It will be interesting to see who they bring in. Landsdown cashed in around £130 million of his HL stock the other week, so I don't imagine he'll be raiding their £17m piggy bank himself.

Heard from a city fan earlier this summer that fans expected Bryan to go and NOW 2 other big names are also going. Must say I'm surprised. Hopefully a relegation scrap coming. UTG !

I'm sure they'll buy their way out of it if true.
SL wouldn't allow them (especially not with their infrastructure and facilities nowadays) to go down. Nor would LJ stay I'd imagine

The worry is that our best striker and defender, Harrison and Lockyer probably would be sold for a combined fee of around £700k.
Flint gets goals but is not the best on the ground at the back and Reid had an outstanding 5 months but has really been very average for the rest of his career. I think he only scored about 4 goals from open play after Jan.
Are they £16m+ better than Harrison and Locks?
I suppose the one good thing for us is that the development side is producing young hungry players. If Locks goes we have Meyannese and Kilgour coming through, but not sure if Ebbut or Kavanagh are near the first team up front yet, but give them time.
It was interesting to hear Gary Owners at Torquay saying City youngsters Dowling and Lemonheigh have masses of talent but didn't show enough desire and fight. He might be better off getting Kilgour and Leigh-Gilchrist as they both impressed in the same division for relegation threatened Hungerford and both played their parts in helping them to safety.
Apart from a sell on clause for Macey, or if Russe continues his development, I cant see a million transfer bonus for us anytime soon.
Better keeping buying the 50/50s!

They are banking £17M for 2 players? Have I missed something? We replace our entire squad 17 times for that. We're obviously laughing at them getting their pants pulled down over these deals. They could learn a few things from us when it comes to selling players at top dollar........

Just like he wouldn't allow the rugby to get relegated .....
The one thing 1982 Ltd have going for them is Lee Johnson, as long as he is in charge there is a good chance they will mess it up despite the money.
