with the business we have done so far i am really looking forward to new season, squad is taking shape nicely, with 1 or 2 still to come, things are really looking up!there is a marked difference to last preseason when we didn't even have a goalkeeper, and i am really exited about our prospects for the season, i imagine one or two more will be leaving us, but i really do fancy us for top six at least, bring on the posh, lets go , up the Rovers! ps well done those involved with securing our new additions, top work!

What would everyone consider a good season?
We need a solid left back and a proven striker to end up in top ten otherwise its mid to lower in the table... To me 10th to 7th would be a good season so we can prove to future players we’re serious contenders to go up and sign a couple of really good signings to take us to top six the next season

However, another mid table finish of around 10-14 would be fine. Hope for more, of course, but mid table wouldn't be bad while we wait for the club to catch up off the pitch the fantastic work Darrell and his players are achieving on it.

If we keep hold of Ellis and Sercs and bring in the two strikers and a left back that DC is believed to want then there’s no reason why we can’t challenge this season.

Feeling pretty positive about the season ahead.

Another striker and a left back minimum. Be happy with mid table finish as you say but I hope we can compete well in the mid-top half over the season even if we end up mid table. Not sure if we’ll be among top six but I look forward to us competing and seeing more gradual improvement. And some good news off the field would be good. 😉 UTG!

Squiffy we CAN'T complete our business by 31st as under the new rules signings have to be made before the first game. In my mind that is good because it will force Darrell to get a move on. We need at least six signings to even compete with last season because otherwise it will only take a couple of injuries and we will be struggling as was shown at the end of the season. Two strikers, two more wingers, a dominating centre half and a left back as absolute minimum and they need time to settle in!! Two more wingers? What's the point in having 5 wingers plus the Development Squad wingers, they can't all play and Bennett and Rodman probably have the the two starting spots nailed down already. Meaning Mensah will be back up plus Matthews and Serc can also play out wide. A new LB is surely a given so we're really only waiting on another experienced striker to replace Gaffers unless the likes of Smith and OC are moved out. As far as a dominant CH if Broadbent isn't that this season what's the point of him staying at the club, he may as well find a new club than spend a season on the bench.

Winger and Striker in this week which leaves a left back, another striker and a dominating centre half as probably needed still. Not sure that Broadbent can become a dominating centre half as his main quality is bringing the ball out rather than winning crosses in where he always looks second best. Its just as much about having good competition for places as we have to wait until January to make any signings after 4th August. Only needs a few injuries like the end of last season.

Assuming Craig's not going to move to LB we've already got him & TB as CH's and most likely that's Rollin's preferred position so I can't see DC bringing in another experienced one, although we probably do need to still replace Burn?

Much as the same as last season unless we get someone who can score 15 to 20 goals, and of course a left back and a right winger that can go past Browner when we play Pompey

It’s got to be a top 9 finish or we can’t claim progress is being made under DC. 😂 ......and second round of the FA Cup!

Reilly scored 22 goals last season and Rodman is a right winger who can get past Brown

Although Bola played at Shrewsbury and he scored down our right at the Mem. The aim must surely be top 6 unless the they are all now spending even more than last summer.

Yep.
I think Nicholls will have a good season as well, as long as he's playing last man and not having to run channels.

If we can get a decent LB in and another striker I reckon we can push top 6.
We weren't all that far off at the end of last season and the additions we've made so far seem to have strengthened us.

Need another quality striker and quality left back and I will be confident of finishing between 9th-12th.
