Reading a article in the evil post (yes i can read) about how much Bristol Rovers would accept for Ellis from Blackburn Rovers, How much do you think is acceptable ? He has a long term contract with the Rovers and DC has stated in the past no release clauses are in contracts, i would expect an offer in excess of £1m would be the minimum acceptable Does he? Or does he have just a year left?
If its long term as you say, we can demand what we want. If they don't meet what we want then bye. If they rate him so highly then they got to pay for it.
If he has 1 year left, I be surprised if we get more than £300k for him. I wouldn't be surprised though if we reject it and they come back in January for less expecting us to accept other risk losing him for free next summer.

If he was on a long contract, in today's market, I wouldn't accept anything less than £2m and if his contract runs out next summer then £1m. I'd rather keep the player though. Yes, that sounds about right to me with price falling to £500k plus some add on if he does move at Christmas so really hope we are working on a new contract for Ellis.

Ellis is an odd one, a year ago most were willing to let him go and now off the back of a season where he seemed to finally mature and ended up scoring 12 league goals, he's now considered one of our best players. I suppose the question is whether last season was an anomaly and he's going to return to the frustrating striker of years past, or if he has finally started kicking on and Ellis will be a player that could get 15+ goals for us this season.

Well if Coventry can get £1-1.5M for McNulty..... Good point. A player who has already failed when tested at a higher level. He only signed a 2 year deal last summer, so assumingly he only had a year left!

I'll ask tonight if any appropriate person is at the game. I did ask if the club had received any offers/enquiries about Ellis and it was confirmed an enquiry/offer was received but was a ridiculous offer and the club that made the offer indicated they were "trying it on".

Sounds like Bristol Sport 1982 Men section made that offer, that's about all they can afford these days

Proof or it didn't happen.
