Great post, not everyone spreading poison by the likes of Henbury and co though, we still have plenty of proper supporters with inteligence, integrity, an understanding of business and an appreciation for the consistent and positive strides being made. That will never change because attention seekers are so easy to see through.
So, because you don't agree with what Henbury says, he isn't a "proper" supporter?
Are you a "proper" supporter?
I just dislike sh1stirring with absolutely no substance, of which Henbury and several other posters are partaking open season in. I used to feel totally comfortable in chosing Rovers over City as a kid as the mentality was so different between fans, but by chuffc is that changing in recent years.

As you know I was a teacher for a number of years, but I also had a logistics business and a security business. I have 2 degrees, 1 in Fine Art, the other History. So I have intelligence, and understanding of business, and as I was in charge of "disclosure" at 2 schools I probably have integrity too. However, whilst the club are making improvements, we will never make true progress until we have the following. A new ground. A new training ground and the Nous to know that you don't sell your best players until you have got a replacement.

True. And no head of media around of course. Yes, true that no board members, CEO or senior staff, except a little bit if TG, were around. Who is head of media now? Even if its on a temp basis until that position is filled.
Nobody on temp basis. The 2 staff are quite junior. TG is doing the programme, and using the media staff, so he's media boss in a way. Obviously things have changed. JD is still online. www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2017/august/commercialdirectorvacancy/

And just like all of us, not a bloody clue as to whats involved in how to run a football club or how to manage a football team

I'm reading these last few pages and I am completely baffled by the overreaction from some of the regular senior posters on here.
The point of the open day is for younger fans to interact with the manager/players and get a little closer to the action, not for grown men to question/interrogate senior staff members.
Whilst I agree the dealing of Keith could have been better, you cant stand still forever. Football is a vicious sink or swim business and you have to move on with the times or get left behind by the rest, and is becoming more globalised and less about community. But if you don't like it, you don't have to go.
Someone has already made reference to how we don't like evolution but the moment a bit or revolution happens and a lot of you start losing your minds! Just relax and calm down, I get everyone's worked up because we've just sold Harrison, but the bloke scored 12 goals last season, not like when we lost Lambert, he is replaceable, even arguably by someone better.
Everyone seems to be forgetting the record breaking sponsorship deals, great club shop, improved background and office staff etc. and just focusing on the negatives.
Nothing wrong with the board, the new staff, players, manager. Only thing that needs to change is the attitude and actions of 'supporters' Great post, not everyone spreading poison by the likes of Henbury and co though, we still have plenty of proper supporters with inteligence, integrity, an understanding of business and an appreciation for the consistent and positive strides being made. That will never change because attention seekers are so easy to see through. ummm i've been a rovers supporter for over 50 years and run my own business for 30 years so i think i'm qualified to make a comment. THe best thing that ever happened to rovers was the family taking over and bringing in somebody to kick this club right up the arse and get rid of some of the old guard. that in my eyes is far more important than any other pie in the sky dreams some people have

All that behind you but you don't have the business sense to appreciate that until you have the proceeds in the bank from selling one asset, you can't go out and purchase the replacement. What happens if we'd gone one and paid £250K/500K plus wages etc for Harrison's replacement but then the sell fell through at the last minute, we'd be stuck with two first choice CF's along with a big hole in our finances.

I tend to agree however wonder whether in this case maybe we did try to sign Ellis' replacement thinking it likely he would leave. Difficult to imagine Lyle Taylor playing alongside Ellis as they are quite similar, but he would have made a decent replacement.

They get 18000 crowds and excellent income through other channels they can afford to. Footy is all about survival for clubs like Rovers balancing the books etc and were a division one club and no more.

Can you really compare Chaplin's potential move to Coventry or Rovers to Harrison moving to a Championship side, you could compare it to Gaffney's move but I doubt any of us would have turned down Salford's offer.
