Found that interesting in Lockyer's interview. He said "we're looking to be more structured and work on just 2 or 3 formations"
What do people make of this? Does this mean we are going to focus more on ourselves, more than focusing too much on the opposition? Be good to know what formation we play today too..

Seems to me that DC is learning all the time. He has probably worked out that the players are better giving more effort to less if you see what I mean? Also worth remembering that he now has his coaching badge which he did a lot on over the summer. Perhaps when talking to the other candidates or part of the course has shown him that this is the modern way? Either way - winner, winner chicken dinner for us.

Could it be he will have a more settled first 11 in mind & make less changes from week to week ? He often changed formation / tactics 2/3 times in a game, which sometimes worked & other times helped us ship too many goals IMO. I think DC would have looked at other ideas from his coaching course & also with the new defensive coach on board & with some more experience gained in this league, he will be more confident in his abilities. IMO he is the most valuable asset the club has & if he can get us established as a top 6 team, things will start moving quicker behind the scenes. Well I hope so anyway, because if not, when the managerial merry go rounds gather pace, he may well tempted.

Crickey is somebody actually listening to me for once I've been on about keeping a structured and steady team without changing it every week for ages

Crickey is somebody actually listening to me for once I've been on about keeping a structured and steady team without changing it every week for ages Probably not. Lots of others have commented about his changes and wished for a more settled team. Unfortunately you attacked him professionally as an incompetent manager. Quite different! UTG!

DC said in his interview yesterday that he wants his players to adapt to lots of different ways of setting up. Contradicts this thread.

You STILL taking what the (any) manager says literally? Then why bother doing any interviews?

You STILL taking what the (any) manager says literally? Then why bother doing any interviews? I bet that is not far from what DC really thinks, too.

You STILL taking what the (any) manager says literally? Then why bother doing any interviews? He does interviews because that is part of his job, why do people think he should give every detail of what the club are up to in his interviews? Does the concept of keeping your cards close to your chest mean nothing to you people? We as fans do not have the right to know absolutely everything going on if the information being disclosed is information the club doesn't want third parties to know, for example the size of our budget before transfer business is concluded. This is a public forum and we already know that half the evil post's stories come from here. We can't exactly say 'listen we'll tell you fans what's going on, but you have to promise not to tell anyone else'.

I'm not saying he has to disclose everything that's going on, he has control over what he says, but I would expect anything he does say to be the truth. Big difference.

You STILL taking what the (any) manager says literally? Then why bother doing any interviews? Because, I believe, he has to by the rules of EFL.As others have said you get the impression he'd rather not do so,much like many other managers.

We can't exactly say 'listen we'll tell you fans what's going on, but you have to promise not to tell anyone else'. And he has always used the interviews as a bit of joke I think. I’ve learnt never to take what he says too seriously in regards to transfers. He knows others see this and because he has to do them as part of his duties he will try and have some fun at the expense of the interviewer. Him and his training staff probably have a few laughs over what he says sometimes. So no, I don’t take it that seriously when he says he expects to sign 6/7 players in the window beacause I know it won’t happen. Why alert other clubs or the BEP to his detailed plans? UTG!
