Great. Finally joined the list of clubs in league with one of the biggest social ills of our time. A sad day for brfc. Thankfully not front of the shirt. Were you equally as outraged when the club announced all the sponsorship by alcohol companies? Surely you can't pick and choose which vices to be offended by.
As another poster says, gambling firms in sport are everywhere now, it was little surprise that one wanted to throw some money at Rovers.
Alcohol, like tobacco, are banned from kids replica shirts (not sure how the Sportsman got around that ban) I wouldn't be surprised if betting co's didn't join them in a few years time. Hopefully the front sponsor is a decent one if a betting co have had to accept the back of the shirt!

Is this all what people have to complain about nowadays? What logos are on a football shirt.
What does it really matter, i don't know about the rest of you but it hardly makes me want to go spunk my months wage on the horses.
I get morals, but it is what it is, a company paying to advertised on our shirt, the club making more money.
The world will still spin, there are bigger problems in the world.

Tom Gorringe is earning his cheddar. As much the raffle was a nice idea, this has to be more lucrative in the long term. Not all that glitters is gold. A lot of collateral damage along the way. Hi Ian

I've seen mates lives ruined by gambling. But I've seen peoples lives ruined by alcohol etc. Plenty of booze sponsors all over the shop. Is what it is. An earner for the club I would turn that round though and say THEY ruined their lives by doing those things. Blaming others is the easy way out but sometimes you have to blame yourself.

Like what? We seem to have a professional commercial director making what seem like good commercial deals and improving things from the whip round, favours for the boys mentality

It's amazing how people can be against any change, if the club is going to grow change is inevitable. I'm guessing you don't like Mr G?

I take it that means it won't be on kids kits.

Sponsored by yet another betting company nobody has ever heard of- first City, now us, it's all getting very cliché. At least it's not the main sponsor I suppose. Because having the main sponsor as the sportsman or a waste construction management company is a lot better... Anyone who provides a reasonable service is a lot better. The problem with gambling companies (imo) is not the act of gambling itself it is more the fact that they want to take your money without providing a fair service in return. Closing your account at the drop of a hat, limiting your stakes, stopping you withdrawing...they want to take your money and will use every trick in the book to give you nowt in return. It's a lot different to giving the sportsman some money for a pint.

What a shame, log in to see if there is any news on the new kit design and instead find 3 pages of petty squabbling over the new sponsor! Some of you really need to grow up. As already pointed out, we have been playing in the skyBET league 1 for the last god knows how long!
Back on subject... I am going for a green away kit, something a tad controversial on the home (season away from quarters?) and an even more controversial third kit..

Its been confirmed by someone who claims they are ITK (will have to wait and see if what they claim is true or not) that our away kit is yellow.

Topper, I am guessing the Sportsman didn't have an issue with that because they are not alcohol themselves. They sell it like. Its no different to having ASDA as a sponsor as they also sell alcohol, if you catch my drift.

Can the shirts have subtle differences between each player. Each player has a QR code as shirt. Younger supporters can scan players and get stats. I should be on Dragons Den. Surprised no one thought about this when we had the carrier bag kit 96-97 as a barcode. IMO I hope it's the black arab kit

Asda are mainly a food store how sell booze, I think most people see the Sportsman as a pub which also sells food, although we'd better move on as otherwise the forum police will accuses us of "squabbling" plus it's last year's news now anyway.

Sounds like Fantasy Football but you get to waste your money as well as your time and effort picking a team?
