Just announced a massive shirt sponsorship deal with Nottingham Forest and as a result will not be on the front of our shirts next year according to the Bristol Post. Anyone have any idea who the new sponsors might be? Billy Smarts Circus. It will fit in nicely with the amount of Big Tops we have at the Mem. I was thinking along the lines of go outdoors myself. Accurately describes the match day experience at the mem and perhaps they could give us a discount on our next tent.

Thousands of fans left furious after share prices on virtual gambling platform Football Index CRASHED, leaving footballers worth just pennies with many claiming they've lost 'life-altering' amounts of money after being 'lied to and manipulated constantly'

I thought the whole concept sounded a bit barmpot from the off.... Not surprised in the slightest....

Feel sorry for those that didn't and have lost money. Indeed, got to feel for those who have been shafted by this. Perhaps a sad warning to anyone getting in too deep with this sort of thing. Very difficult situation towing the line between fun and something more serious.

This was an obvious ponzi-scheme from the start. There were clearly "brand ambassadors" paid or enticed to go on their club's football forum to peddle it.
JHGas was clearly ours what with at least 50% of his posts being in this thread.

I've just noticed, going back through his posts that at the time he first signed up here, he'd invested 11k and received 5k in profit? Surely any investment into Football Index of up to 11k is risky in the extreme? Yet he and others were peddling this as a money making scheme.

To be fair I think he probably is genuinely a gashead, he's posted on some other stuff but I do believe there was something in it for him to bigging it up on here. Hopefully he didn't bet the farm and isn't one of those who've lost a packet.

Yeah, why not, it's a bit of fun. I'm a bit annoyed about some players not being on there yet like Lincoln (Flamengo), Brenner (Sao Paulo), Paulinho (Bayer Leverkusen), Felipe Vizeu (Udinese), Giovanni (Santos), Francisco 'Trincao' (Braga), Filip Benkovic (Dynamo Zagreb) and Umaro Embalo (Benfica), but other than that it's decent. What's the betting Pirate bankrupts FI before the season's out!!!

Surprisingly those with an entirely Bristol Rovers based player portfolio saw their investment value rise to a record 3p this weekend.

I was merely excited that football index was sponsoring the club i supported. You made me feel very unwelcome, so have chosen to withdraw back to being just a reader of the forum since. Your assumption on me is very wrong LJG.

I don't think you've ever "pushed" anyone to invest but it was quite clear there was more in it for you than excitement at a new sponsor - including talking about Football Index in other unrelated threads. You've posted nearly as much about Bath Rugby on this forum as you have Rovers, other than that your stuff is pure Football Index. I'm very sorry if I ever made you feel unwelcome but if you are not up front with people then don't be surprised if people react with skepticism.

Personally i'm not sure i could have been more up front than i was, introducing myself as a gashead and football index user. There was nothing in it for me, i was just genuinely excited. I could have posted a link at the time that would have got anyone i signed up(and myself) a free tenner. I chose not to as i didn't want to come across as an "ambassador" or push the product on anyone(which i'm glad i didn't the way the product has gone). I just hope you can accept that your skepticism is misplaced that's all . Back to the topic though of Football index. The owners have really screwed traders over and they're coming under a lot of pressure right now from media and the gambling commission. It will be interesting to see if Nottingham Forest and QPR distance themselves from the brand as they sponsor them I believe.

I don't think you're any more likely to be truthful about it now that it's been exposed for the fraud it is than you were before. Like I said before, I'm sure you probably are a gashead but the fact well over half your activity on this forum is Football Index related tells its own story. The idea that I somehow scared you off also doesn't really add up since you posted throughout 2019.

I'm sceptical of any Englishman that uses skepticism as opposed to scepticism. 😉
