If you can get your head around it all The guy has got it wrong. It would not be the fifth meaningful vote. A new session of Parliament resets everything. In reality of course, there was no vote on this on Saturday. If Berkow turns it down it will just reiterate what a corrupt Speaker we have. I think he was suggesting that although they didn't vote, because it was put forward and then pulled that counts.
That wasn't the bit that interested me per se. More the whole Government trying to play sides off against each other (Still) and almost shooting themselves in the foot (or Dominic Cummings masterplan is some call it)
It's clear the Government are/were trying to get the deal through without scrutiny and they may have gotten away with it if it weren't for those pesky kids

I think the reality is that the remainers don't want a vote on the deal. There is the slight chance it could go through, meaning we leave on Oct 31st, or if Parliament vote it down then the EU may just say enough is enough and it is obvious that Parliament will not agree to anything, so out you go, meaning we leave on Oct 31st. This has to be the worst Parliament in history.

Earlier, Brexit Secretary Steve Barclay told a Lords committee Northern Irish businesses would also have to complete export declarations to send any goods to the UK mainland.
Now, DUP MP Sammy Wilson has responded saying it was a "clear breach" of a UK government commitment to allow "unfettered access to Great Britain market for Northern Ireland business".

It's not really funny is it,an indication of whether MPs support this deal would have been progress unfortunately,Bercow is a rogue Speaker who does not deal in commonsense.

But there are Parliamentary practices and Procedures. The fact that this lot cannot navigate them is a clear indication of their utter incompetence. So, Johnson me old mucker, let's have the detail and expose it to scrutiny

You laugh at the Speaker denying a vote on the Agreement under the guise of asking the same thing twice. Well, isn't a second referendum also doing that, asking the same thing twice? Democracy is being killed in Parliament. Next time, it could be against you. The average person in the street hasn't seen Parliament vote on this Agreement. They also see it is still being denied. Give the people a vote and give them a General Election, only then can we rid ourselves of these political pygmies.

Well said Ken
Ken Clarke: "Can the govt stop giving this sacred quality to the date of Oct 31st? The date was not selected by the British public or the British govt. It was a compromise selected in the EU between President Macron and the rest."
I do believe the EU also said please don't waste this time, which The Tories promptly did

I do believe the EU also said please don't waste this time, which The Tories promptly did "I do believe the EU also said please don't waste this time, which The Tories promptly did" I don't think Johnson did. He managed to get large chunks of the Agreement re-negotiated, against all odds. What Ken forgets is that the date of Oct 31st is tied up with Article 50, EU Law, which supercedes UK Law! If the EU refuse an extension then there is nothing Parliament can do about it.

So much talk from the opposition benches of โrespectโ but they seem completely oblivious to themselves clearly displaying zero respect for the people of this country who showed a clear desire to leave the EU. The continuous delaying tactics and efforts to dig out dirt on the PM is just embarrassing and the public and business just want this all concluded. Bercow is an absolute disgrace. Might as well have Gina Miller, Mr Broccoli or Oldie as Speaker.

The funny thing is, the more opposition in Parliament to Johnson, the more times he is put down, the more popular he becomes as it is the Remainers who are seen as stopping Brexit, and therefore, the bigger majority he will win in the next GE.

This is only the start. if we leave on Oct 31st or November the 10th and the WA is passed we are just on to the next bit about arguing a FTA with the EU

Legally departed and beyond the point at which any more unscrupulous activities by democracy deniers can halt progress. Iโd like to think once our departure is confirmed there will be more urgency and collective cooperation in moving through the next stages but I suspect the opposition parties will continue to put their own selfish political ambitions and point scoring ahead of the country and their constituents best interests. I think Nobby is right. Come the next GE the opposition will realise how damaging their despicable tactics have antagonised the electorate - if it continues I can only see a landslide for Boris.
