Hopefully two signings today to replace Ellis in an email from Steve Hamer today. What he said that to you in an email? Yes look in the BBC fans forum thread. Don't know how to copy the email across.

What he said that to you in an email? Yes look in the BBC fans forum thread. Don't know how to copy the email across. As promised the reply I have received this morning to my email after the forum last night. Good morning David Thank you for your email, the contents of which I note.I fully understand your concerns, unfortunately for various reasons there have been so many false dawn's announced from within the club over the past year there is a genuine reluctance to make public announcements without the 100% belief that what ever is announced will happen. The training ground is a prime example, a budget was given for the project and that has now managed to exceed itself by three times, this of course delays the project, reviews then have to be undertaken and considered. These frustrations are not only shared by you and our loyal fan base but by the Manager and myself, along with other members of our back room staff. On the playing front we hopefully are close to landing replacements for Ellis Harrison today, but again there are so many obstacles placed in the way of any signing, it becomes a card game of poker and patience. All I can genuinely say, the owners are not burying their heads and are aware of what is required to maintain growth momentum within the club. Best Wishes. Steve Hamer Chairman Bristol Rovers Football Club. There you have it. Please don't shoot the messenger, that's me!

Thanks GGMI, won’t shoot SH either. Sounds like a genuine and honest reply. I wouldn’t argue with what he’s said but perhaps others might. I’m sure buying a player must be difficult for clubs like us when we are in competition. For the PL clubs they can use more money as a lever, we can’t so I’m sure he’s right, it must be like a game if poker and patience. It seems good that you received a prompt reply to your concern. I’d say it was a good reply but this is GasChat!!😉 UTG!

Does that mean they will both be half as good as Ellis?

He might. Isn't that how Rovers notify people of: - Redundancy - Banning orders - Change of role You get the picture. Anyway thanks for the info lets hope two strikers are in the building soon. We need some good news.

I thought Gary Kenneth was a Centre Back not a Keeper I, sort of, know the bloke who actually played Mr Blobby. He now lives in New Zealand. That is my claim to fame anyway I now dub thee blobbygas.

Using that phrase would hint that it is an acting role. Prancing about in a big Pink Spotty suit can hardly be classed as acting Nobster. The Bard would turn in his grave.

True dit: He jacked in Mr Blobby when he found out that the BBC were charging a thousand quid to have him turn up at events, but were only paying him 50 quid. He asked for a bit more money, they refused, and therefore Mr Blobby disappeared for good !

It is a good and honest message from Hamer. The only bit that worries me is the wording of the final paragraph:
“All I can genuinely say, the owners are not burying their heads and are aware of what is required to maintain growth momentum within the club.“
We know that they are aware of what is required but he doesn’t go as far as to say that they are prepared to do anything about it. A political answer, worded to avoid it coming back on him, but nonetheless revealing of a bit of doubt in his mind, maybe?
Like others have said, I have no axe to grind with SH. I think he’s on a hiding to nothing at the moment.

Thank you for your email, the contents of which I note.I fully understand your concerns, unfortunately for various reasons there have been so many false dawn's announced from within the club over the past year there is a genuine reluctance to make public announcements without the 100% belief that what ever is announced will happen. So there it is...too much communication earlier in the regime, some of it more in aspiration than certainty used as a rod for the owners back both on FB and the forums has driven them 180 degrees the other way. So that no communication from top is disseminated just in case it doesn't come to fruition either in the manner described or in the timeframe expressed. Clearly neither situation is ideal - we neither wish to be fed ear candy with little substance nor endure a wall of silence so that we are supporting an unfathomable club. Perhaps we can ask them to publish a little more information than they do now but include in the report a probability factor. So the "landing lights" are on but there is still a 30% chance it could crash and burn and no stadium at UWE might be the result etc.

Stolen from Faceache....
Names of strikers being touted include.....A Dutch striker, Van Hire. Another called Dan Gleeballs, who apparently is a large presence in the box.
Here's hoping.
