Broadbent up front for the last 5 mins of a game if we are chasing it maybe.

You sure? I swear it was Wmbledon. McGhee admitted that he hadnt trained/prepared for the game as he thought it would be an easy win which was why he played Virgo up front. Or am I getting my games mixed up??? Lee Brown for Jim Paterson 58 Wayne Brown for Fabian Broghammer 69 Adam Virgo for Joe Anyinsah 76.

Perhaps both then as he was thrown up front at Burton when he came on late but he wasn't exactly a success.Don't think Broadbean is worth it either so we will have to rely on the firepower we have!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What sort of message would it send out?
This is the sort of thing that happens during an injury crisis in February, not when we’ve had more than a month to replace Gaffney and a fortnight to replace Ellis. I can see the logic behind it, but we would be better off getting a lump in from the Southern league if we just want someone to hit balls up to.

I was very impressed with Reillys movement on Saturday , soon as he came on he was looking to move about and work the channels which is what we need with players like Bennet, Rodman and Sercombe looking to get forward in to the gaps that player leaves. Compare that to Nichols who basically spent more time combing his Dam hair with his hand than running about and you’ve got your starter. DC might give Nichols a start on Saturday but if it’s more of the same then stick him in the reserves and tell him he’s not coming out until he shows more interest I reckon.

With the lack of firepower, we need to make the most of our set pieces so the defenders will play a crucial role here with supporting our attacks. Over the last few seasons, we have actually had quite a few attempts at goal from corners where our defenders have got on the end of them. But a hell of a lot of times they go wide/over when they should have done better.

It would send a message to our owners that we are a laughing stock and they need to get their wallets out. That's the only benefit in playing Broadbent up front - IMO!

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I’m sure I first watched him play in a ‘friendly’ against the sh@t at AG (think we got thumped 4-0 or something like that). I remember thinking ‘surely he’s going to shift that weight before the season starts ... somehow?!?’.

We must plan to do the best with what we have available at Peterborough. How about using Tom to win some headers and hold the ball up? Not ideal but he is fit and has a presence. Could see him linking up with either Nicholls or Reilly and bringing our midfield into play. How about 3- 5 -2? Slocombe J Clarke Lockyer Craig Rodman Upson O Clarke Sercombe Bennett Nicholls/Reilly Broadbent. Only 3 defenders (ok 4 but 1 is being used as a striker) and 2 very attack minded wingers/wing backs. If we played this this starting 11, I feel we will be humiliated. That'll be two weeks on the trot, then.

What a mixture of reactions to a possible set up for Peterborough. Will some of the angry/impolite respondents offer some advice on how the ball will not come straight back with nobody on the books able to hold it up? My proposed formation was trying to get the best out of what we have now. 4-4-2 an option with Kelly coming in at left back replacing Ollie Clarke if he is unavailable. Safer formation but any line up merely papers over the cracks that are so obvious to us all.
