Stupid thought in my head here but wouldn't it be good if our owners got in on this, like City tried to do with Ashton Vale with the England World Cup 2018 bid. They were going to get funds to build that stadium as they would have been one of the host stadiums.
Like I said, stupid thought.

Well we will definitely need a bigger stadium for our Champions League fixtures by then, so why not!

We will never get the world Cup back in England, and that is a fact. fifa would lose so much money, so they wont give it to us. the FA are wasting their time

Confirmed that they may bid for it? Sounds like a typical FA comment.

Every ground would be full and, unlike in other host nations, teams wouldn't have to travel hundreds, and in some cases, thousands of miles between venues.

Yes. Absolutely. A World Cup in England and a decent stadium in Bristol would be a very good candidate to host some games, seeing as there is a gaping void in the West Country.
The trouble is that my money would be on Ashton Gate getting it...

A few Brown envelopes to the right people should secure the deal.

England invented football, and believe it of not still hold all the original documents on how and when it was set up and the rules etc. Other countries around the world, if you like play it "on licence". Not really as we understand it today, but it boils down to the fact that if we hold the World Cup, all the profits go to the English FA, not to FIFA. I was told this way back in the early 80's, and guess what, we haven't had it here since 1966. Germany has had it 3 times in that period

That's UEFA though, who seam to like us again now! Think it has something to do with how much money they made from all the corporate business for the two recent Champions League finals at Wembley. They even said they want another one there and now they are getting Semi Finals and Final for the next Euros. Maybe FIFA are different now, we will have to wait and see! Maybe some feel Bristol could be used due to the geographical location if they want to spread it out. Personally, we would be better off going with the biggest and best stadiums. Would pay the Welsh to let us use Millennium as well! That would cover the South West and be a much better option.

A few Brown envelopes to the right people should secure the deal. That is why the likelihood of England getting the gig is virtually nil in my opinion, noses deep in the financial trough at the top of the world game
