I was reading it in a waiting room today as it had a large Football season preview section. Worryingly at least a couple of pundits suggested we could be in line for relegation - the reason given that we keep selling our goalscorers and without recruiting adequate replacements, then it's got to come home to roost at some point.
Now I'm not a doom and gloom merchant, but we must get a couple of players in before the deadline or we will struggle to replace Ellis's goals, all round effort, and his defensive work. Hold on . . . what chuffkin waiting room has th Racing Post ffs?
Was she any good?
The fact he read it also means he was actually waiting, this is a worry, how many were in the que?!

Going into the last few days with one untried striker and Nichols, I'd say we are nailed on for relegation. We need at least 2 in the door pdq. I'm not saying we should wait too long but loans are allowed until 31st August. And sercs, Rodman, Bennett all capable of serious goal tallies. That panic button isn't being pressed yet.

We always lose to posh & Stanley so who cares. 😂. Joke...

I refer the court to last season. Shrewsbury were well fancied to go down and look what they did. These "experts" don't always get it right. They had a good defence and a good attack. We have a leaky defence and an absent attack

I am amazed that some people think we'll have a reasonable season. If we don't sign a couple of strikers of any ability we have very little goal threat and the defence is a cause for concern. It looks as if our new left back might not even be fit to play! Racing Post is correct in their assessment - you can't keep selling your best players and not replace them. If we don't get 2 decent strikers in we'll struggle badly in my opinion.

Considering the Racing Post is so abysmal at predicting winners of races (their chosen sport) I would say their prediction of relegation for the Gas is a good omen

The same rag tipped Shrewsbury for relegation last season, and we all know how that ended up. I don't see that you can predict much at this point in proceedings, except that Sunderland should run away with it this season that is.

Strange really because I've seen a few comments from fans of other clubs stating how strong our team looks and that we could be dark horses this season.

Our midfield has been improved considerably, and could potentially boss many games. If we can get a striker or two that can score and hold the ball up, then yes I agree, but if not then I fear our defence isn't the best and could be exposed.
