“BristolLive understand Rovers were close to completing a deal for a League One striker today, however the formalities could not be completed despite a price being agreed between the clubs involved. The signing is expected to be completed and announced early next week.”
Any thoughts on who this might be? My money would be on Conor Chaplin from Portsmouth.

Honestly hope not, I think Pirate said he's 5'6, we've got enough pocket rockets, I think we need a more traditional number 9.

I’m actually getting bored with the ongoing striker situation now. I’m just going to see what happens as I can’t be arsed to post about it after this post.

Typical Effin Rovers really. Gafney went in June, Ellis a couple of weeks ago, and we still can't get a signing across the line before kick-off.
Sometimes I despair at this club.

McAleney was a fantastic prospect at Everton amazed at his decline As was Jose Baxter my friend, and we all know what happened there. Think McAleny moved to Fleetwood after his loan at Oxford, would be happy if he does sign.

McAleney was a fantastic prospect at Everton amazed at his decline He would fit right in then as we are good at taking moderately successful strikers and sucking the talent out of them! lol

What's going on at Rovers, we keep signing players from the Prem and L1. Can't we go back to our roots and sign up and coming National League and L2 player.

McAleney was in and around the first team for years and kept getting new deals. He looked fantastic at u23 level. Like many others he ended up playing at Oxford but has failed to push on after a promising soell there. I really pushed for us to sign him a year or two ago. Suprised he did so badly at Fleetwood. Happy to see us sign him, definately got goals in him

Wael said he’s a typical no.9 and above 6,2 Two questions. When and where did Wael make that statement? Has he signed or when will he sign?
