Would have preferred him to have gone on Having a Gas so fans could ring up and ask questions. Still remember when we got relegated to the Conference and DC was the only one who had the bottle to appear on the show and face the fans. Earned maximum respect from me. Trouble is Having a Gas is on Thursday and that is when we need Wael and DC to orchestrate some signings.

Geoff normally has his finger on the pulse so I am sure he will give Wael a sound grilling- would have been nice to get some fans on with him as well though.

Transfer deadline day is so stressful that they will probably want to have a rest then! Maybe Saturday was just the best time to get them in the same place at the mem, DC lives near Southampton so that could be tricky for a Thursday night unless it was a phone in.

To be fair to John Ward, he also came out to face angry fans afterwards behind the Blackthorn. I was there. Can’t have been easy, especially given his personal circumstances too. Higgs didn’t, but I don’t blame him for that as feelings were running so high against him and the board in the immediate aftermath that I’m not sure it would have been safe.

I would have thought DC had more things to worry before our first home game than to appear alongside Wael on a radio programme, I'm assuming the show will have to be pre-recorded?

One simple question for Wael. Are the Cheltenham consultants used to get the training ground off the ground, still employed by us? I'm sure you already know the answer to that question.

I think a little clarity is necessary. GT's 'having a gas' show has not moved. It is still 6pm on Thursday evening. Not 100% clear what this Saturday interview is & whether it is fully live, fully pre record, or a mix. Maybe someone else knows. GT does the Saturday sports show & could play prerecords or do live. They can be done live via the commentary position (as I have done in past) or could potentially be via mobile phone or even a small outside broadcast unit. Wael is at the game on Saturday & at Ash's game on Sunday. Whether he is in the country / area on Thursday I do not know. DC does indeed live near Eastleigh.

I don’t know why, but I thought is was Wael & Hamer on Saturday, not Wael & DC...

Going on the radio on Saturday. Hopefully he will be talking about our 2 new strikers, breaking our transfer record, as well as other things! I predict this will be a non event with Wael now. Everything can pretend to be all rosy again now we have brought 2 strikers in. But how long will it last this time?

Not long, the focus will shift to the back four. You could be right. I'm not confident with our back 4. Leads is too shaky at times. Craig and Lockyer aren't a partnership and beat too easily in the air. James Clarke is not really a LB and can do a job but nothing sopecial going forward. Slocombe has not done too much wrong while with us but is an average keeper for this level.

I agree, gives me a bit of hope that Twentyman is conducting the interview, as he doesn't hold back as much as some.

I respect Geoff as a player and broadcaster and hopefully he will push to get the answers required.

Twentyman should know what the fans want answers about. Will woolly question regards transfers and where we aim to be. Easy to answer and I'm sure all of us on here could predict what would be said.

I’m more concerned with training ground news than I am with stadium news. For me it is more important as it’s where the team spend most of their working time and can bring all three teams together. Whereas the Mem for its drawbacks is adequate for now and the new works (although yet completed) will be an improvement and see us thru the next few years.
So hopefully news on the training ground, stadia wise I’m happy for the board to work quietly behind the scenes until something concrete can be announced (e.g. foundations laid, not a fancy architects impression of a UWE or redeveloped Mem 😉)

With all the f*ck-ups this close season - bars not finished, kit not ready, stands not up in time, sponsor debacle - it makes you wonder how, even if we had the money, we'd ever manage to build a stadium or training ground?
