Firstly evening all, I've been a gashead for many years and thought it was time for my first post.
When the Al Qadis bought the club, I, as were we all very excited to what the future may hold and the voices coming from the board said the right things.
I appreciate they have invested in the club in terms of staff and 'trying to improve the matchstick experience' as we keep on hearing about. But sadly if things keep going as they look to be, there won't be any supporters to enjoy it.
First and foremost the fans are the lifeblood of any team and you need to balance investment across the whole club for anything to work. This includes staff, fans, players, infrastructure.
Sadly it seems the only real investment is in the staff (excluding the development squad).
The problem with this is;
- a development squad needs time to gain experience - will not provide instant success.
- players - if there is no real investment in players, unless you're fortunate to uncover the next Vardy etc, it only takes you one way.... Backwards
- infrastructure - a lack of investment in this week not attract the calibre of players required to move forward.
I could go on, but whilst I believe the board intentions are good, there is no balance to the plan and it is the team and fans that will suffer......
It seems like the current situation isn't far away from seriously boiling over.... And who knows what that may bring....
Go easy... I it's my first post.. 😉

Hopefully no-one flames you for your first post or the players don't go on strike.

The issue is we've found the next Vardy but having sold Harrison the BoD don't seem interested in reinvesting the proceeds, but just to rub salt into the wounds they've drastically increased the bar prices (the way KB was treated doesn't help matters). The only way seems to be for DC to get a decent transfer kitty or the ALQ's to sell up, otherwise we're going to face a relegation battle and we'll be back to the toxic atmosphere at the Mem if we go down.
I wonder what's happened to the new stands have they been cancelled/put on hold as Wael saw this coming?

They really struggle with the concept that you can love your club but question the people that own/run it. Don’t worry about them though because they were the people who were shouting down those questioning Higgs and Co as they mortgaged the stadium to Wonga!

The difference is as in any walk of life, there is nothing wrong with positive criticism. Surely the BoD would rather we care and voice our concerns.... It shows PASSION.. something people misunderstand and criticise thinking it's something else.... UTG!

It seems ta me wees at a crossroads .... will th Al Qadis push on or not?And that is worth debating/questioning.
Some seem happy ta be what we've alwaes been others want better. And in those ways nobodys wrong its just their personal thoughts.
But please stop th complete cr@p about selling up, and of course th same sh1te from others about something amazing is comingin a few months.

It’d be great if they did welcome positive criticism but I’m sure they’d rather we’d just clap like seals do begging for their lunch at some obscene American theme park. Worst is though many so say fans would rather that too!

The new owners got lucky when they bought BRFC, they were carried along on the crest of a DC wave of temporary glory. They said all the right things - but as I stated over 18 months ago and will say it again, it is all smoke and mirrors and a modern day scenario of 'The kings new clothes' - a fairy-tale with a warning.
Shoot me down, I am beyond caring, it needs saying - but evolution, my arse.
More tents and the life blood employees walking KB - how long until the fans walk as well?
How long before the chant: We want our Rovers back …. returns to the terraces?
I have seen it all since first attending my first match in 1966, I aint no happy clapper
Clarke will walk sooner rather than later and who can blame him, I fear a winter of discontent.
Fire away!!
(to let you know, I deleted your new thread with this post in but left the post here. Istm we may as well keep this stuff in the same thread -AF)

Very good first post!
The issue for me, is that the BoD seem more than happy to build an army of backroom staff, but there doesn't seem to be much investment in the playing squad (considering the money that's been generated from selling players).
Yes we brought Nichols, Sercs, spent a bit on Mensah etc. - but surely the net effect of selling the Snake, Bodin, Harrison, Gaffney(?) etc. is that we've actually spent less than we've made?
Without some serious investment, I fear we will only move backwards and will probably lose DC which would be a disaster - we are clearly punching above our weight given our budget so losing him could certainly bring about relegation which in turn would see lower crowds and less income.

What's Sh1te about asking where the new stands have gone, why can't the club announce officially what's going on with them, let's hope TG turns up for work today or we could be right in the sh1t!
