It is with great disappointment that we have to inform supporters that the two new stands due to be installed this summer will now not be ready in time for the start of the season.
The stands are of a bespoke construction and involve the manufacture of new roofs. The new stands will offer an improved spectator experience for supporters once they are completed, however because their construction is more complex, our main contractor, GL Events has encountered unforeseen engineering issues in the supply chain.
They have confirmed that completion will now be possible by the start of September. In the meanwhile, alternative arrangements have been made for all supporters affected, with seats being allocated elsewhere in the ground. If you are one of the supporters affected, you will be contacted directly over the coming days.
GL Events and the Club would like to apologise to all supporters who suffer any inconvenience as a result of this delay.
The new South West Stand, is due to be built on the 16th, 17th & 18th August and in use for supporters for the match with Portsmouth on 21st August.
The new Bristol Energy Family Stand due to be built on the 3rd,4th & 5th September and will be in use for supporters for the match with Plymouth on September 8th.
We’d like to thank supporters for their continued patience and we look forward to seeing you all at the Mem this weekend for our match with Accrington.

Obviously a pain for those that were due to be situated there, but it’s only a month delay for total conpletetion.

Some perspective. When we moved back to Bristol the whole ground wasn’t ready on time and we had to move back to Bath for the opening game of the season. The image of Barry Fry’s flabby bare belly will live with me forever.

Still remember the players gingerly decending the stairs from the upper tier.

He said for the same money they could have had the same main stand as Peterboro, who built theirs at the same time

The one they've recently built isn't bad either.

The one they've recently built isn't bad either. We were saying on Saturday as we surveyed their ground that we could easily have what they have on the Mem site, better in fact because the Home terrace is pretty compact and you could have something much taller in the same space if two tier.

Wasn't a two tier stand looked at for a new North Stand but binned due to blocking natural light for the houses behind?

I had seven or eight pints of Thatcher`s Gold in the Berkeley on Saturday afternoon. I must have seen lots of things, but I don`t remember any of them.

Oh, the images are there, locked away somewhere in your memory, just waiting for that unexpected moment to pop back into your consciousness when you least expect them! As for that hippocrocapig you went home with, well, you WANT to forget the images......but they are there....lurking....waiting..... I know these things because I once saw Nathan Blissett play for Rovers. I want to forget, I need to forget. No matter how many times I try to deny the images, they pop straight back into my memory.

I've heard that it was made to fit the silhouette of the old stand that was there, in order to make planning permission much easier.
