good point Tom G replying to queries. Print at home tickets coming and other bits. Trying to get initial things working first. A lot has been undertaken in the summer for the better but perhaps taken a little bit longer than hoped

No beer available before the game or at half time for those of us on the east terrace. Shocking really. Doesn’t take much to put a pop up bar in whilst the works are completed.

Or a few signs before you go through turnstile saying no bar available, giving you the chance to get a beer elsewhere, very disappointed 😡

And no bar at the back of the West enclosure as last season. I went into The Thatchers bar at about 1:45. It was a zoo. I managed to get to the front of the queue after about 5 minutes. Not bad. Stood there for 15 minutes, nobody was being served where I was stood. Thatchers was fobbing so I could see it would was going to be slow. Grab a pint from the portable bar at the end of the West Stand I thought. Got there, no bar?? Why? Bought a hot chocolate, it was so hot it burnt my mouth. Let it cool for 15 minutes, when I could drink it, well it was vile. Not a great experience, and the football matched it.

Everything is all ready to go in the new Thatchers Bar. There may be a few teething problems, but the small team who have been working hard have done their best. Things would had been better if there was a Stadium Manager in place to organise the rebuilding better and quicker! To have people still working and wireing up the night before is not really professional. But well done to that small group of individuals who have made sure we have a new bar to drink in today! UTG You sir are a belter!

Not as easy as popping a bar up mate. There's alot of other things that have to be in place to do it. All in order tho to be ready asap I believe.

Like ??🤔 Licencing, building barriers as your not supposed to be able to see the pitch at half time whist drinking (pathetic I know) and there would need to be a few bars to accommodate. But I get what your saying mate nothing worse than a poor first half and not being able to have a beer.

And no bar at the back of the West enclosure as last season. I've sent TG an email to see if the ''bar van' is to make a return to the west terrace. I'll let you know when he replies.... I reckon it's probably that they need the ground space whilst they erect the SW stand, let's see....

All tbings considered, I think the bars were a pretty good success.
The Thatchers seemed to slow everything down as every pint i saw poured kept frothing
Hopefully The East bar will be finished soon and the portable bar at the West will be sorted once the SW stand is back.
A LOT of work has gone on this summer to improve things and its mostly welcome

GHB and myself cut short our usual visit to the Wellie and investigated the new bar. Although packed have to say what a vast improvement, very tidy decor etc and we even managed to partake of a decent pint of Butcombe.Obviously being a lot bigger, now a very good money earner for the club and plenty of Gasheads coughing up £4 for a pint.

Recieved an email from TG, fair play to the bloke he more than answered my question
Hi Greg,
Do you mean the bar unit that was fenced in in the South West corner?
Yes, the plan is for this to return, however we are in the process of applying for a new license which covers the whole site.
We will get information out to supporters today regarding all of the current bar offerings and plans over the coming weeks so all supports know what to expect.
The bar in the East Stand is due to be back up and running for the Plymouth game.
All the best,
Tom Gorringe Commercial Director
