Listening to the non interview/ interview today it struck me that our president should open The batting against India in the next test match! Anybody that can just knock back question after question to the interviewer ( who I thought Geoff did a brilliant job today) without saying ANYTHING is clearly in the wrong sport!.

Sounds like him and Hamer make a great double team of people who say nothing.

I think they are slowly but surely managing our expectations downwards.
Each infrequent set of answers is less positive than the last, from the UWE landing lights being on, to looking for a new stadium, to building a redeveloped Mem on our beautiful piece of land, to nothing for at least three years.
Same with the Colony, where it would be ready in 2018, to planning issues, to no comment.
They've gone from positive to hopeful to possible to nothing to say (confidentiality of course).
The next announcements will be the first tentative dip into the negative, like the Colony not being suitable for our needs at the present time, and the redeveloped Mem being postponed for the time being because of x, y and z reasons.

Notice that these negative pieces of information come out AFTER most ST sales are taken....

What did you expect from him? Our club is in the best position we've been for a long time. Rather than getting on his back and being a keyboard warrior. Give the bloke a bit of credit. How many owners do you see mixing with fans? He can't just chuck money and buy players and build a stadium. It's doesn't work like that. Rather than moaning and groining like the scum just get behind everyone at the club. Rant over

We may well be in a better position than we were 4-5 years ago, but our owners have set themselves up for some criticism and doubt by not communicating clearly.
We need to announce a clear plan (again) - even if it's one that says we can't afford to do much more than we are currently doing.
We have had 40+ years of being strung along and I'll bet most have had enough!
Yours in Sport,
Michael Knighton.

Rant over With respect you are basically saying "get behind them just because" which some people find acceptable, others need reasons above and beyond blind faith and loyalty to the badge to trust that the owners will deliver on the words ("this club NEEDS a new stadium) that were said when they first arrived. In terms of it 'being in the best position' that is like winning a tallest dwarf competition because the debt is also bigger than at any point in our history and we, as yet, have no guarantee for how long DS will underwrite the losses that they have helped to rack up. If Hani was dyed in the wool Gas I am sure we would all sleep much better in our beds at night. As it is all we know about him is that he holds the purse strings (corroborated by Hamer himself) and that he hasn't told Wael he wants out yet. None of that fills me with confidence I have to say.

Understand your point as over the years as fans we've always been let down with false promises. But maybe this is the reason he's blanking the questions and doesn't want to promise things that can't be feasible. He's only been here 5mins and it's not as easy to just build a stadium. We should be blaming the previous board for our debt and false hope. But I think the more we get on there back and moan the more likely it is that they will sell up and we could be in the same position as the previous board.

Rather than coming out and saying this and that to give us hope and then just taking it away like the previous board. At the end of the day it's a business running a football club and we need to generate more income to sustain building a stadium etc. Which is the reason the club shop and bars have been refurbished to create that.

Rome wasn't built in a day ๐๐๐ We wont get anywhere near sustainability because; a) Wael and family are not willing to inject any significant funds. b) Nobody wants to invest in a limited L1 side who will struggle to avoid relegation.

Bloody hell mate you don't half like finding negatives. I don't understand why people like you bother to support if your just going to moan. Nothing is perfect but at least there having a go. Easy to point the finger and make out you know best. Glad I don't stand near you on match day ๐

They are still a very poor championship club, after blowing ยฃ100m of other peoples money and you get the feeling the the Rosy faced one is pulling some of that money out now and putting it into his more favored part of Bristol Sport Bristol Bears

Him yes, but he ummed and arred re the family - they haven't said anything to make him think differently. To be honest it sounded like he hadn't asked his family or doesn't talk to them. A little concerning his hesitant response to that question as he didn't respond convincingly when needed to

All credit for coming on the radio but Iโm afraid he said nothing reassuring so would rather he hadnโt bothered. He sounded evasive but clearly hinted we are as far away from stadium and training ground developments as we have ever been, plans A, B and C means we are looking at so many things we donโt know where to focus. Iโm not especially worried about today but clearly there is still no plan for the future. We continue to live hand to mouth. Itโs how weโve always rolled
