Far better off around Hammersmith just two stops down the line! There's plenty of places within a 10 min journey in any direction. Hammersmith, Earls Court, Notting Hill, Kensington and around Paddington.

I worked in Hammersmith for a year many moons ago. Went along to watch QPR a few times when I wasn't going to Rovers games. Always a good atmosphere from memory.
And on a comedy note I'm pretty sure they had Doudou and Shittu both playing in the same side that season.

Hi Gasheads, Hoop in peace here. I live abroad but will hopefully make the game. Hope you come in numbers and we turn up after our first cup win in about 20 years. You'll be made welcome, hopefully the pubs round the Bush will loosen up. If not there's a few on Shepherds Bush Road.
That's a decent alumni team if better going forward than at the back. Devon White first name on the teamsheet of course.

I'm pretty underwhelmed as well, like you say, hopefully they'll put out an 'experimental' team. Wonder what DC will do, I'd like to think we'll field a strong team. How can he field a strong team we ain’t got one. Well the strongest team available

When was the last time we played there? 70s or 80s? I remember going to Loftus Road to watch the Gas sometime in 1970s (I think). Cant remember much about the match apart from there being a cracking atmosphere and Rodney Marsh scoring directly from a free kick. That will have been the League Cup 4th Round game in 1971 - we'd only moved from Bristol to Wembley the year before and I really wanted to go to this one...but the fact it was a school night and I was 8 counted against me! My old man went with a QPR supporting work colleague instead...and I remember the Rovers goal was at the root of quite an argument between them at the time. Harold scored it by doing what we would call these days "giving the keeper the eyes" as he looked one way and nonchalantly flicked the ball in the opposite direction - the keeper diving full length to save thin air whilst the ball glided serenely into the opposite corner. My dad's mate argued that third division footballers were not skilled enough to pull something like that off deliberately and it must have been a miskick! My dad just laughed and said Jarman had been tricking opposition defenders and keepers like that for the best part of fifteen years! Although I was not there I can well believe it was Harold's skill rather than a fluke - I remember a time at Eastville where his insistence on sitting the goalkeeper on his ass rather than shooting first time cost me the winning golden goal ticket!!!

Gerry Francis, Ian Holloway, Gary Penrice, Devon White, Denis Bailey(Loan), Andy Tilson, Gary Waddock, Justin Channing, Jamie Cureton, Michael Meaker, Matt Lockwood, Trevor Challis, Bobby Zamora, Marcus Bignot, Alvin Bubb, Ross Weare, Bradley Allen, Lee Brown and Joe Lumley(Loan). Any others I've missed out who have played for both clubs? Tom Hitchcock. Rik Lopez was on the books of QPR, but I don't think he made a first team appearance for them. Think Graeme Power might also be in the Rik Lopez category

West-country based QPR fan here. Really looking forward to the match, most QPR fans have a soft-spot for The Gas and with me being based in the West-Country they are the only other team I keep an eye out for, helps that I have always detested City. Many links between the clubs over the years so great to finally have a competitive match.
We are traditionally terrible in the cups so I reckon you have every chance of beating us, enjoy and make sure you bring more and louder than City, sure you will.

If only they had gone threw Indeed, but they went and through it away against Plymouth... Effing brain dead can't even use the correct spelling for its use of the word through. In their 770+ pages of bile and hatred about us, they've even got the hump because Gas fans objected to BCC bailing them out in 1982. The Tnucs seem to have developed a selective amnesia when it comes to the matter of their sh**ty club stiffing many local businesses and 8 players when they went down the sh**ter. No mention of their arsehole fans who burnt down the stand at Twerton Park either. And WTF is that date on their crappy club crest? I think the present club that plays at Ashton Gate was founded in 1982.

Bristol City 1982ltd are no more.
