Check out the WOWAD (Who Owes Who A Drink) Bristol Rovers on the Portsmouth message board fansonline.
It is an alternative but one worth a read.

A good read - "the foreskin bursting erection of Oxford" certainly conjures up a picture!

Not quite the Chernobyl described by Bolton fans, but still:
Football fans, owed by – Bristol Rovers: The away “stand”, it’s not a stand really. More suitable terms for where away fans are accommodated are stump, block, paving slab, concentration camp, thing, bench, and slope. Nobody puts baby in the corner, but apparently you can put 1,000 travelling fans there.

Very confusing writing style. Content may be true but not an easy read.

Like to think that reports like this make the board and whoever else is pulling stings and willing to invest actually want to build a stadium we can be proud of.

Can’t remember which poster it was who asked me on my thoughts on the ground as an away fan. We used to have an open terrace for the away fans. We liked it as it was open to the elements. We didn’t want away fans enjoying themselves etal. However, it was at least large and behind a goal. ‘Brizzle’ as a day out was great, the stadium somewhat sobering only made bearable by the result. You have a decent fan base who at present with all due respect, are now the poor neighbours. Build the ground and the fans will come. It’s true. Everyone is excited in Pompey awaiting our plans to move or revamp fratton.

Well it’s certainly a very individual style of writing. I prefer sentences myself, they’re easier to read and make more sense. And to be honest moaning about our ground is a bit like moaning about tomorrow is going to come. And crowing about the new Pompey ground! Blimey they’ve been talking about it and had some plans for years, not quite as long as us but still a long time. I’ll believe it when I see it, as I will with us! But good luck to Pompey I can understand them being happy after an awful time. UTG!

We already under their stewardship have a great training facility, medical centre, sponsorship, scouting and community based infrastructure. The ground is next on their list and everything is being done the right way at last. But let’s not compare fratton with the memorial. Our old lady is at least that. The last club stadium I can compare to rovers was the old manor ground at oxford. Or the last relic still standing at home park in Plymouth.

The thing is the mem isn’t old or run down like the manor ground and main stand at Home Park was. It was mostly rebuilt during the mid 90’s, it just looks the way it does as it was built for rugby and was very poorly designed at two ends and has tents in the south because we ran out of space/money. Both the new den at Millwall and Glanford Park at Scunthorpe are older than the mem, though obviously there can be no comparison between such stadia.

Makes for very difficult reading that you have a new training ground. We don't even get talk about a new training ground anymore because apparently it's all too confidential to even discuss in public. Good luck to you lot, we will soon disappear in your rear-view mirrors never to be seen again.

We already under their stewardship have a great training facility, medical centre, sponsorship, scouting and community based infrastructure. The ground is next on their list and everything is being done the right way at last. That's funny. That's a very similar list to what our new owners put forward. Of course, we haven't done any of it, yet. But the lists are similar.

Honest question , because I don’t know but I reckon it’s about the same time.

Of course, on the bright side, although we do have one rich neighbour, they are still arsing about in the Championship, whereas Portsmouth, with all due respect, now have two rich neighbours (kinda) in the Prem.

Seriously, I’m pleased for you and glad that after all the crooks who fleeced your club you have what look like “good” owners. Yes, the ground is old and worn and probably not fit for purpose but it is ours and likely to be for the foreseeable future. My point was I’m sure you expected it to be as bad as it was because everyone knows it is and mentioning it is stating the bl****** obvious! Anyway good luck to you and for the season. UTG!

It pretty much puts to bed those who say that DS haven't been here long enough to actually build anything.

Yeah they’ve made improvements but so have ours.

I think he has owned the club since the beginning of last season. So not as long. I think it was talked about but because it was fans-owned they had to get the fans to agree before he took ownership in full. But the Pompey guy will know. UTG!
