We should have replaced Leads and let him go to Plymouth, he is injury prone and cannot defend or cross, we signed a promising left back who was out injured for a season, and our only sensible other option Kelly was overlooked until all other options were explored. The lack of a proper pre season with more games has cost us again, when Tommy widdrington came in I thought we were going to improve on our recruitment. We dodged a massive bullet with Baka who has had a mare at cov, they Walsall replaced him with a 35k signing from non league who has hit the ground running. We need another 3 signings and Waels absence last night was very telling.

CHRIST on a bike, where did it all go wrong?
This just about sums up our water poor situation, we are now saying just loan anyone and even worse from mercenary Prem teams who state we have to play them!

Should get the 6ft 2in free agent centre back Ricardo Bagadur in for a closer look if he was willing.

It's hard to believe the owners are willing to risk relegation rather than pay for a couple of decent loan signings. Very misguided as the cost of relegation or terminating DC contact would be a lot more. Being badly let down by the owners. He has a big squad already though and choose to sign loads of midfielders. So I can see why they won't give him extra, if he's already spent the amount he was given. It's not like we are short of numbers. Just short in certain positions. Big squad. DC only said yesterday he is working with the smallest squad he has ever had.

He suffered a couple of injuries which is why he didn't play more, but when he did play he was in great form. He made his first team debut for Palace last night too and helped them keep a clean sheet. Colchester manager on 6ft 5in CB Inniss: “I must admit I thought Ryan was outstanding. His defensive headers when the crosses were coming in were excellent. He was well organised, and he was sweeping in behind. He got in a tackle late on when the lad had got in down the side of him. I thought Ryan’s reading of the game was excellent.” He impressed at Port Vale too and the manager wanted to keep him longer term. Former Port Vale star Phil Sproson also spoke highly of Inniss following his debut in a 1-0 win over Walsall and then in a 3-0 win over Doncaster. “He’s an out-and-out centre-back who wants to defend and go and win the ball in the air,” Sproson said. “We have had defenders who are comfortable on the ball and can play out from the back, but they have struggled when they have come up against teams with a physical presence up front. “Inniss is a rock and he will go and win that ball. He is a Ryan Shawcross type player.”

Especially when you think the new left back, Partington, Sinclair still to come back into it. Plus Russe looked ok last season. Plus we have the development squad as well! We have about 7 or 8 who could play centre midfield, from the first team squad. But are playing people out of position at left back.

No, I wouldn't be comfortable with that, but I'm sure a compromise could be made. I doubt Palace would expect him to be picked if he was having a nightmare every week.

Yeah agree with this and the other comment about DC saying he'd rather not do it. Don't get me wrong, I think players should have to earn the right to play. However, I'd be surprised if Palace don't have a defender in their ranks that could slot straight into our backline? Worst case scenario is if they don't play, we pay. We'd be paying for any other loan? I don't know, maybe it's just me but seems like a good opportunity if they have someone worth taking a punt on. Whats the worst that can happen if a loan player is deemed not good enough? He can go back in January and we damage our relationship with his club. Or maybe the clause means you do have to contribute to his wages if he doesn't play enough games. Yeah Palace have already said they'd want an "up to 50%" (presumably being higher the lower the wages) wage contribution if the player doesn't feature regularly (under 70% games) without injury/suspension being taken into consideration. FWIW, I can't imagine our reputation for loaning players is all that great atm already but meh. We need a defender in though, that much is true.

I think the "1-in-1-out" comment has been misinterpreted. It could well be 2-in-2-out...or 3. I think basically that DC is saying that we can only bring someone in if we manage to get someone out.

DC said last season he wouldn't do that. He said he would never sign a loan player, that has to play, like a lot of clubs do. He might have changed his mind, but I doubt it. Yet he signed Craig who seemingly has to play every game?
LOL, you really have an axe to grind there, don't you? (P.S not having a pop or anything!!)
