I can assure you they 100% do ignore advice/recommendations from amateurs, and some professionals trying to help, but not agents strangely enough.....

To be honest I think we know more than we are given credit for. If someone has been watching football for a long time they can be forgiven for thinking they know something about it. Weve seen managers ideas which don't work tried before and if a large percentage of 10000 think the same thing there will be some truth in it.

Yes if you have watched football for a long time you will have good knowledge the game, same with anything really, although you do hear some that you recognise from years back that still don't seem to have a clue. My father is a scout and has been behind quite a few players going from UK to the US; he used to recommend players to Rovers but soon gave up, now passes names on to me to recommend to Rovers, but I can see what he (and probably Wes) came up against which was a wall of silence and not even a slither of acknowledgement (fair enough they are busy, but still...) I now watch a lot of football all over the world and miss most Rovers games despite having a ST, I just watch Rovers on ifollow......much more enjoyable, well not the games currently just the arrangement!

The sad thing is that when some of these amateurs get ignored they get all bitter and twisted and resort to slagging off every new signing the club makes while pointing out the player they should have signed.

Do the people who recommend players to the club get ignored because Rovers have already looked at the players in question and decided, due to one of a million factors, they're not suitable for the club, or - heaven forbid - they don't want to sign?
Do people genuinely feel that just because Rovers haven't signed the latest starlet right back from the 12th tier (along with every other professional club), they are ignoring the suggestions?
I'd rather our recruitment team spent their time identifying new players than having to write courtesy emails back to everyone pretty much trying to do their job for them.

Well if its the same people you can always click on the ignore button? Surely better to debate that sort of thing on here rather than shout abuse at the games though don't you think?? I still haven't worked out why it bothers you so much but then again you are a bit of an enigma.

From pro-actively speaking to people within the club over many years, I believe this is their mindset and why I believe it goes straight into the bin/delete folder.
Nothing wrong with free assistance; I know Wes mainly highlights players to scout and I cant imagine the club are swamped with that many recommendations to not even reply.
A tea-lady recommended Nigel Martyn don't forget, Dunford was involved with Rickie Lambert....

You clearly bear a grudge against the club relating to recommending players and it undermines your posts imo. I agree with quite a lot of posts of yours strangely enough but the grudge is always evident and your not very visible on here during good runs of form.

But surely if the form is good then there is not much to discuss?
People moan at fans moaning but its down to the team to win football matches. Fans don't win football matches, Accrington don't continually beat us at home with 30 fans in attendance by being the 12th man.
I only focus on the negative things because I want us to be better. Of course you have to consider the things that are being done right and keep doing them, and ill give credit where its due, but my main concern in filtering out the things being done wrong or badly.
