Got to speak to him after the game Saturday. He was a very down to earth man and I can see why people warm to him. He has not put a foot wrong and hovers between 7&8 /10 every week.
He isn’t the fastest but his cover in Curtis is not only fast but has an engine that runs and runs.
He has been instrumental in making the lb slot safe at the back and productive going forward. He has been a great signing so far and one that is a team player.
A great bit of business for us having conceded just 2 goals this season. A pen at yours and an own goal vs oxford.

I’m probably speaking out of turn here- but isn’t that a post for Portsmouth forum? He was here 7 years, the vast majority of gas-heads know what a solid pro he is.

Interesting how they found a bargain player in Curtis that gives Lee the protection that he didn't always get with us.

Just thought you might like to know how one of your own is getting on. As for Bennett, infuriating isn’t he. Potential match winner to ‘was he playing’!

Sorry Bob,
Football is a sore subject here at the moment and the clear loss of Brown, who incidentally many had the opinion here that he wasn’t good enough for this league, has contributed to our poor start.
Brown is a great pro and as you describe. He does need a player in front of him that can give him a bit of cover.

No sourness here despite our current issues in defence. Browner was very good here and we are clearly missing his character and ability. Wished him nothing but the best and hope he carries on doing well. A model pro

who incidentally many had the opinion here that he wasn’t good enough for this league, I think that was probably a tiny minority who had just run out of people to blame. Or fancied a change.

Everything you write is pretty much what we expected. He is a genuine legend in my eyes, and if played with the right formation / players is a top Lge 1 player.

Bennett was the left midfielder but Curtis gets us off our feet with end product and his sheer energy to help Lee brown out up and down the line. I would be absolutely gutted to lose Curtis something which I never said in 2 1/2 years with Bennett. He had his chances here and whilst he can be brilliant, doing it every 4 games doesn’t count when the other three he’s disappointed. His final ball and decision making are the reason he will always be league1 or 2 only.
