Just a bit more creativity up front is Needed. Teams come here and defend in numbers. Bennett creates a chance for a cross and looks up to see no movement. If Leadbetter could cross a bit better he'd have the same issue as the defence is - On majority of occasions - already back and not running towards their goal. We don't seem to have the outlet of clearing our lines to the feet of our forward lines and bringing midfield into play. This Nichols does well but then we lose numbers up front. Just need someone who can unlock defences, Matthews looks close if other around him make the right moves Just my opinion and no doubt that DC & co know this and is something they are working on.

The keeper coming for high balls and commanding his area. Progress. Commitment to defending our clean sheet. Progress. No players out of position. Progress. Ollie Clarkes return to form. Progress. A more ambitious team selection. Progress. Reilly working hard to create chances and at least trouble the opposition. Progress. Yes, there were negatives in the game. Leads was poor, Lines wasnt at his best and Nichols got game time again but there are far more positives for me there than I've seen in a while. Progress is measured over a period of time not 90 mins Hahahaha. Thats brilliant!!!

Based on this argument- an 8 nil win would mean nothing? Football is played over 90mins, feels an entirely reasonable to measure over. So if we lost the next game 9-0 ? Then I’d say that was bad/ regression if you will. I don’t think that goes against my POV? Admittedly, we may caveat our view with it’s just a game... and we still need more improvement, but given our poor start Saturday was better. If we keep going in that direction we might have something come the middle of October.

One of those games where if we'd have put one of the chances away and won 1-0, people would say it was a comfortable & deserved win.
If Plymouth scored that sitter and we lost 1-0 people would say we were terrible all game.

I didn't see the game but it's a results business and not beating the bottom side at home is extremely worrying.
Looking at the fixtures to see where the next win is coming from and im struggling tbh...

Luton....🙄 They've won 2 out of 3 homes games so far (Shrewsbury & Southend) and drew with Sunderland, so just avoiding defeat will be a good outcome. First week of October maybe our best hope, if confidence isn't shot be then with Rochdale (A) & Walsall (H)

Thanks Steve. Good report and agree with much of it. Reilly went off because he was tired and Nicholls will never please people but he did ok imo. One pass by Matthews across goal when he shot instead of passing would have given Nicholls an open goal and the headlines today would have been different. Thought the team looked very balanced and it was only when Joel Grant came on for Argyle that they started to threaten and Danny L looked poor defensively. Probably Rodman should have come on as the last sub but SS certainly gave everyone a lift and to know he’s ready will lift the spirits of the club imo. UTG!

This current squad will take us nowhere, lost interest in this season already. Well we were bottom of the league in November and were pushing for a play off place in April so I wouldn’t throw the towel in just yet.

Well we were bottom of the league in November and were pushing for a play off place in April so I wouldn’t throw the towel in just yet. I had faith in that squad, and I’ve watched our squad get worse and worse season after season, not making any predictions or saying where I think we’ll finish... just lost interest
