Henbury says there's multi billionaire great Danes ready to buy us some bigger sausages and I believe that mo-fo. Me and my cousins don't run to billions I'm afraid. Not much money in ghost hunting these days and the money gets split 5 ways so less for me. Yea, but you got to sniff Velma.

Anybody heard anything about us building a stadium on the fruit market. The other lot seem to think busineses down the road have been sold for student accommodation as well. Source from within the club don't know which. Probably a load of tosh. Don't know the fruit market location as I left Bristol in 79.

I read it in this thread last week, so now you've mentioned it, too, it has become true. The fruit market is in St Phillips, so close to the river, you can actually smell South Bristol.

Apologies AF I was in New York last week. That'll teach me for not trawling through previous posts.

I just had a quick look, unless I missed it, I don’t see it mentioned in this thread? Not sure where this rumour has come from mind - just a tad random

I also recall talk of the Fruit Market back in the 90s, possibly early to mid, but nothing came if it. One of several short lived ideas before tbe Mem came up.

This would be good. Pre-match drinking options in Redcliff, Old Market, Barley Mow. Walking distance for BS5/BS4

I haven't read about this on gaschat either, no doubt it's on there somewhere though. If you can overlook its proximity to the south side of the city then it doesn't look like a bad site. It's north of the river but indented into the south. Would upset a few of our red friends I'd have thought, #ourcity and all that...
Realistically you'd need to be getting hold of those sites between the market and Albert Road as well to make the site big enough. You could squeeze a decent size stadium into the fruit market site on its own but it wouldn't be that comfortable on the north and south sides I don't think. Probably a non-starter knowing gaschat but interesting nonetheless. I thought we'd been told there were no suitable sites left in Bristol for a new stadium, wasn't there a desktop study done on this a few years ago?

Henbury says there's multi billionaire great Danes ready to buy us some bigger sausages and I believe that mo-fo. And they’ll probably be the best owners in the world. UTG!
