After always using the Blackthorn/ Thatchers since moving to the mem, I’m booking seats for Walsall (kids just can’t see from the terrace and not comfortable for them). There’s a few in the East stand right at the back available - any good or South stand better (dodgy blankets will be avoided!)?

I doubt it will go down well on here but about the new family stand? Just wear sunglasses and a cap to make sure you don't get spotted and then shamed by a forum user!

I used to take a fold up stool with me when Scrappydoo was a pup so he could stand on it at the front and look over the wall. Mind you, years ago there weren't so many fat ass adults standing at the front as well.

When we had our Christmas meal, we were seated right at the back of the East stand, and IMO its the best place to watch at The Mem.
The view is excellent, you can see the formations and everything.
The South stand is quite good viewing wise, we sit right next to away fans row E, like I said, the view is quite good.
If I had a choice I'd sit in the East stand, they're usually sold out though, and its cheaper in the South stand too.
Have you thought about the new family stand, from what I've heard, its meant to be quite good in there. You get the atmosphere from Thatchers, plus you're sitting down too!!!

Thanks for the advice. Booked now. New family stand was my first choice but sold out. East stand had 12 seats left and only 4 together so booked 3 of them. Right at the very back so should be interesting (given my fear of heights!). I’ll report back (no idea where the turnstiles are!).

Judging by the childish (irony / pun intended) reaction by some on here who would have thought it would be that popular?

If the Blackpool fans sat in there it would look like a case of Fanta.

Tried to get tickets for that stand for Coventry but told sold out ... only to then see it 3/4 full (at best). Not sure what was going on there. Kind of excited about Saturday now - weird that I’ve never been in any other part of the ground than the North terrace since we moved there (apart from meeting mates in the west stand bar post match).

I'd guess that some season ticket holders didn't turn up? BTW, does anyone know how many that stand holds?

The reason it was half empty for that game was that due to the change in the layout they wanted those that had purchased ST's to be able to pick their seats. We we're also given complimentary pasty & drink vouchers for that game too which I thought was a really nice touch by the club. Hope you and the kids enjoy your new seating position on Saturday.

Thanks all. Looks like we’ll get a good view then. More important will be the three points as it’s a long drive back to Leicester having lost!

I like the east stand and have sat there many a time when enjoying matchday hospitality.
As many have said, great view of the pitch and a decent bit of atmosphere in there as well.

Just 12 though dotted around but 4 together, which I snapped up. Crowds will pick up when we do our usual crap start to the season then pick up.
