I went to Burton and it wasn't great.
Yesterday was another game where we only managed 1 shot on target. That's 3 or 4 times this season we've only had 1 shot on target and at Luton we didn't even manage that. DC is right, we're having to do too much defending. The question is, what can we do to change that. There's no obvious answer in my opinion.
That said, 80%+ of the managers we've had over the past 20 years have been awful so the chances of finding someone better than DC are slim. I would stick with him, for now at least.

Keep DC but things need to change from less rotation to how the team are set up. If things don't change in the next few games then that might be time to start asking questions. If we are bottom 4 by mid December then start looking for a new man so any new broom can use the winter window.

I’m surprised he still has still got a lot of backing from the poll, listening in on radio Bristol there was a lot wanting him out I'm not afraid to admit I want him out and have voted so. This has been going on since January not just this season and in spite of all the talk nothing has changed, still after today no doubt his golden boy will return on Saturday much to the delight of Oxfords defence. If Nichols is back next Saturday then I'm changing my vote.

Def stay, but he needs some experienced help. He's been worse since he got the top coaching badges imo Yes I do wonder who they teach them on this UEFA course badge. Seems to play with a narrower formation, rotate even more and more players starting out of their natural position. Don't think Craig has helped our style of play either.

Give him the next two home games see how it goes he deserves a chance to turn it around but I’m far from impressed with his tactics this season i haven’t been so frustrated watching the Gas for a long time. Our style has been 99% narrow dire unimaginative crap lacking any kind of width or creativity. Anyone else think he was better before he took his coaching badge? Yes...direct link. Needs to hand back the badge.

Anyone else think he was better before he took his coaching badge? Yes...direct link. Needs to hand back the badge. I reckon it's got in his head in a bad way. I think he fell into management (thank you Mr Ward) and for the first season or more was relying on gut instinct (and possibly phone calls to experienced friends within the game). Now he's got "theory" and "best practice" to follow. He's probably got far too much information at his disposal and that's why the team *also* seems to look so uncertain (both in personnel and whilst playing). All just guesswork of course, but I've seen similar things in managers in other business roles. One minute they are firing on all cylinders, leading their team with skill and ability and thrashing all their targets. But they go on a course, they watch powerpoint presentations, they get lectured at by people who are no longer doing that job, often for a good reason, and they come back and are sat between a rock and a hard place - what they used to do (which got them success) and what they have been told to do (which is how everyone else is doing it, and actually drags their performance back towards the average.....)

I am pleased that most people still want him in but I am also surprised given the amount of negativity and slagging off there seems to be around.
As Quantocks pointed out, he effectively single-handedly saved this club when we went down to the conference and for that he deserves to be stuck with through a patch of bad form.
I do also think he’s a victim of his own success. Two promotions and two mid table finishes means fans just expect success now, and that simply isn’t how football works. We were always gonna stall and go backwards a little bit at some stage. Give him time to put it right, he’s earned himself that chance.

Just sack the hopeless, braindead bastard and be done with all this. Seriously! That’s is not only unpleasant but also exceptionally disrespectful, he is the manager of out team, he will turn it around and for the success he has brought us he deserves all our support, whilst we go through this difficult time both on and off the pitch UTG

Just sack the hopeless, braindead bastard and be done with all this. I have always refrained from personal abuse of others on this forum who hold different views, but some people don't half push it with utter, disrespectful crap such as this.

Def IN! Interesting fact that all 4 clubs promoted same time as us well, the runaway champions are back in league two , and the other 2 are in the same position as us, DC is missing a leader on pitch, there just aint no one who is able to inspire the rest aka Ellis, Bodin, there does not seem to be the same ambiance among the squad and DC needs to shake em up quick and upset a few egos , time for the young ,eager, ambitious, hungry, committed, to step up,DC if you dont change something it will cost you and that would be very sad after you have taken us this far, for those who say now is not a good time to blood a couple of exiting talents, how could they do any worse? come on Rovers and fans lets get this season started !

I thought the same about the squads attitudes. By all accounts Ellis and Browner were big characters in the dressing room and it makes me wonder if losing them has affected squad morale as much as we’re missing them on the pitch.
