Watching Marcus Stewart’s interview it sums everything up for me as In how clueless the coaching side is at the moment...
"It really was a game of two halves wasn't it? I think it was crying out for a bit of creativity and a bit of width in the team. We didn't get going. It was obvious to see. We changed it and it worked.
"Oxford had a lot of chances first half off the back of our changes, we had a few second half and I think they had one counter-attack which we blocked off the line.
"It was a case of we were more likely to win the game than lose it in the second half.
"We didn't get it wrong but sometimes you put a team out and you hope it works and it didn't in the first half so we had to change it, as simple as that, and the changes worked.
So they pick a side with 3 defensive midfielders and no wingers and they didn’t get it wrong? They put 2 wingers on in the second half which gave us width but also by doing this meant we couldn’t risk another sub til last 10 Minutes In case of an injury?
Does the time without a goal, I think it is 517 minutes, feel like a weight upon your shoulders at the moment? "I don’t think so. We are doing well down the other end of the pitch, the team is doing a great job when we haven’t got the ball and we are out of possession.
Jack bonham was M.o.m and has been pretty much every game he’s played and Papered over the cracks...every team I watch at the moment and has centre backs that can play a ball to feet instead of a 5 yard pass backwards or a thump to the opposition if in doubt? it’s worrying times to hear this laughable interview and response from a coach of a team playing it’s worse football in years...

What did you want him to say out of interest?

I'm glad someone picked up on this, I read it earlier and thought how poor his comments were.
Sorry but it doesn't inspire confidence. Either MS isn't too bright or the BP have reported inaccurately and made him sound that way.

Surely that bastion of fair and unbiased reporting would never deliberately want to make Rovers look bad....

It's not like these pre-match interviews are shown or YouTube etc so we can all listen to what is really being said! What the hell is that reaction to the first question all about, surely if we can all see we need some width he must be able to work it out as well?

MS has always done a terrible interview. I don’t bother watching them anymore I find them painful to watch to be honest.

What was the reaction to the first question all about? Well, let's listen to what was actually said. He was asked for his reaction to the game. He responded to say that it was crying out for some width and that the original line up wasn't working (not wrong, note, just not working - the reason for that IMO was that the full backs didn't get forward to.orovude that width). Because it wasn't working, they changed it. What on earth is wrong with that? That is exactly what happened. It wasn't working, they recognised that and changed it.

Come on guys. He’s a terrible interview but no need to get so personal and chuck stuff out like labels of thick, he’s done far more for us than he did for the red lot.

Always looks uncomfortable and a bit shy and nervous when he does interviews. Not sure if he’s management material but DC obviously rates him as a good assistant.

Yes, he’s worked wonders with Tom Nichols. Oh wait a minute........ Seriously though he’s not very good at interviews so what, does that really matter?

He's not the best interviewee but, despite our current woes, clearly a very good striker coach. And what a player he was too!

Suggest you read my full post instead of responding to the first few words, it's been plain to us all we were lacking width before the match just read the pre-match thread if you want evidence, if they'd picked a team with some width they wouldn't have had to chance it at half time.
