DC's wasted £600K on strikers, Nichols, Mensah, Payne, in two seasons, what other mid table Div 1 side has had that amount of money to spend? It's nonsense to say he's got limited resources. When are some going to realise that spending that kind of figure on 3 strikers isn’t big money anymore. It’s the equivalent of about £50k 15 years ago when we were spending £250k on people like Martin Cameron and Micky Evans. Other managers have spent far more and achieved far less in returns for no success in comparison to DC. Ignoring the likes of Sunderland, Charlton and P'boro etc which other Div 1 club have spent that amount on strikers in two summers, I can't think of one? For a mid table Div 1 side DC probably got both a decent wage budget and transfer fund, Shrewsbury are probably a mid table side with decent training facilities but both Payne & Rodman were happy to jump ship, likewise Bakayoko from Walsall, and I doubt it was because we were offering them less money! Changes wise does anybody know what other Div 1 sides do, as I haven't a clue, do they all play the same players each week, baring injuries/suspensions I see Barnsely made 2 changes yesterday and for the game before 3 so it's not like the old day where a team sends out the same 11 players every week.

I find the thread title a bit ironic to be honest. Time for a change. Let me see, a manager who has always changed things around match to match through good runs and bad.
A club that didn’t change much in terms of players and not at all their manager for four years just a few players in and a few out each season whilst going on a great run in that time. A club who consistently changed managers for years and spiralled out of control into a flat spin and in to the conference.

Now you just stop that right now. Why’s that ? All that reasoned thought, you're ruining my Sunday beers.

Its all rotten at the moment. Recruitment has been appauling and none of us would be so against the board if we had got that right. Coaching also terrible and the tinkering after finally winning :-( DC has been a great manager but we have hit the wall of what the current set up can achieve. DC got the players in, the board just gave him the money as they thought he knew what he was doing.

And what could another manager do better with the resources available? £550k on Two strikers neither of whom are very good. Are you saying he hasn't had enough "resources?" In reply I would say one word "Accrington"
