I loved listening to that. His enthusiasm and passion for the game - and for the club - is infectious and always has been. I find him incredibly likeable as a person and admire his honesty and bluntness in these interviews. Also fascinating to hear about the Joe Jordan incident and how it affected him and made him reflect on his own behaviour. Has he made a few mistakes along the way? Yes of course, but seriously who hasn't? Good on you Ollie

What a rare breed that man is. So passionate, so enthusiastic, so Rovers. Shame we can't use him as a team motivator.

Good interview. They're all wonderfully colour coordinated with the sofa cushions. Doesn't sound like a QPR fan.

Oh Ollie! Such a love hate relationship over the years! There’s a thin line between love and hate and any nastiness from me is only born out of passion as you say yourself regarding city! He’s definately one of us! I do miss BRISTOL Rovers! 😭

Does anyone else get the feeling he's trying to get his foot in the door for when DC does eventually go? Not that I'm in any rush for that to happen by the way.

I very much enjoyed that. If he was getting big headed about an extra £10 a week imagine what the youngsters are like nowadays!
Sound quality left a lot to be desired though

Great Interview.
Ollie has so much to offer and don't forget he was only just cutting his teeth in management when he took the manager's position at THE GAS. I know he thinks the world of DC and I am sure Ollie offers 100% backing for Rovers to move forward.
Best of luck Ollie! YOU ARE A TRUE BLUE LEGEND.

Great chat with a true Rovers legend but all to brief, sure he could have gone on for hours! even days! love the ref to Gordon Bennett, Ollie characterized him brilliantly and it must resonate with Gas eds everywhere , and summed up why we became Rovers fans instead of tother lot!we should get Gordon down the Mem sometime!

Thank you for posting this Henbury.
Really enjoyed listening to that. Despite what some claim about him, I know the man to be a massive Gashead. That comes through loud and clear here, as does his love for his dad who was also a top top bloke.
I'm not suggesting Ollie should return if and when Darrell does move on, as I think his best managerial days are behind him now. But he is a proper Gashead and should forever be treasured as such.

Wow, what a legend, if only we had someone like that in the changing room now. 💙

Wow, what a legend, if only we had someone like that in the changing room now. 💙 We did have someone like that in the changing room and enjoyed a good period of attractive football. Unfortuanrtly the Rovers Achilles heel of selling our.best strikers struck again. It was horrible when the fans started turning on him. Great interview. Some nice words about Joe Jordan who behaved with dignity that night, unlike a section of idiots in the away end.

That's great.
Shame about the intro music, which is horrific.

Great interview, which knocks the "he doesn't care about us any more" rumours on the head.
I do think there might be something in the theory that he is angling for a return in some form or other in the near future. I don't think that he has suddenly been drawn in by the pittance that the Bristol Post will be paying him for his ramblings, translated into formal English by a BP journo.
I'm not sure how I feel about that. He might be past his best as a manager. But there are more jobs than just manager at a football club, and if all the rumours are true, there could be lots of vacancies at the top coming up soon.

Has he moved back to Bristol? A bit too old to commute from St Albans if the need should arise.
