Good goal. They passed it well, kept the ball, probed, and eventually released a good ball into the box which the bloke dispatched high into the net. We'd be delirious if we scored a goal like that from open play.

I have been watching our forward play in this second half. Firstly, rarely do they track back and support our defence putting us immediately under pressure. Secondly, they don’t close down defenders when on ball. Just look tired or not bothered. Thirdly, Are not tall enough and are easily muscled out on 50/50 challenges. Fourthly, seem to lack confidence and don’t seem to work together as a unit. I expect we will score now or at very least a shot on target. Fairly typical of much this season. Disappointing that Reilly and Jak have failed to impress against weaker defenders. Reilly in particular very poor and not involved. Widdrington and Hargreaves look very promising. THD definitely looks a higher level.

He hasn't done anything sensational, but you can just tell by his positioning, the way he strikes the ball and his passing ability that if he stays fit he'll be one of the first names on the teamsheet. With more game time he can only get better.

Sounds like people really care about this game. It's a nothing game Not for the academy players playing in a first team match. Not for THD after such a long injury lay off. Not for russe, hargreaves and menayese trying to earn a contract for next season. Not for reilly who really badly needed to impress tonight.

Could not get excited about any of that. Let's be honest although we fielded what could be described as a development squad side, so did Exeter. If my memory serves me right they hammered us in a pre season friendly, have now beaten us tonight and did their development team not beat us a month or so ago? Just about sums up our season so far, punchless up front.

Failure to score yet again. Yet again against lower ranked opposition.

Failure to score yet again. Yet again against lower ranked opposition. We didn't even look like scoring. Let's be positive though. THD looks very very good. Walker, for sixteen, looked very promising. Russe, Hargreaves and Widdrington did ok. Negatives: Matthews needs to spend time in the gym to beef up. He gets knocked over too easily, even by the kids. I like his control, passing and movement, but he needs to toughen up. Reilly - Sorry, but he does try but that's not enough. Jakubiak - At times he looks as though he can do something, but ultimately he doesn't. Frustrating.

Failure to score yet again. Yet again against lower ranked opposition. We never looked like scoring and our two up front looked like they couldn't be bothered. This may be a nothing competition with little at stake in this game but these players should be pushing for first team places.

I thought I would go. It’s a 35 minute walk from my house. Apparently, it’s cheap to enter tonight. Fair play if you went but I think £12 for a genuinely, totally dead rubber is quite a lot actually. This was crying out for a £5 game.

From Exeter forum (Says it all really) "873 with 149 from Rovers, not a bad turnout" They have the largest capacity terrace left in British football. What a waste...
