They are sending people around the houses now to try an get interest in a reduced size more local paper at a lower cost. I’m sorry it’s had it’s day and articles like this won’t help. Where’s the context for this story and what are the comparisons with Bristol city. There is little interest in this type of sensational type writing by the buying public so can see why it’s dying

Quite interesting that Grimsby and Rovers are the top 2 'clubs with the most active bans per average attendance' yet when we played them at Wembley Infront of 47000 fans it all seemed pretty orderly despite heavy alcohol consumption....
One would have thought it might have been a bit like like Galatasary v Fenerbache....

Is this really such a negative thing though?
It shows that Rovers have acted responsibly in banning those guilty of disorder whilst that lot south of the river just ignore their problem elements?

With all their sophisticated Video camera technology in that white elephant of a stadium, you would expect them to spot it at a glance and act on it........ enough said

The Ted's don't feature at the top because if they banned all their thugs their average attendance would halve!.

Could look at this the other way and say that Rovers are active in actually doing something about the idiots that turn up and not turn a blind eye. Every club has them. I assume the orders are for the bunch that turn up at 2:59 for some away games purely with the intention of being annoying

These banning orders are imposed by the courts not the club.

I would imagine that the number will increase when the mugshots of the Rovers v Oxford trouble are released.

Banned Fans They couldn't handle the fact that they had to print a good news story about our fans so randomly dragged up these stats to balance it out.

My wife and I no longer attend away games because of the so called supporters who spend two or three hours in the boozer, come through the turnstiles in a stupor, not picked up by the gutless stewards and police and cause mayhem among older and worst still young kids who are the future of this great club. I enjoy a pint or two before a game, but the amount of booze these idiots consume must be colossal. Remember Walsall a couple of seasons ago when a drunken idiot fell over the steel barrier in the away end because he was too drunk to stand. How did he get through the turnstiles in that state? When I complained to the stewards and the police, no one wanted to know.

Liverpool banned 0.06% of their fans. That's because if they banned every scum bag that came to the ground the attendance would be 3 pensioners and a dog!! :-)

Why take this out on the Bristol Post?
If we have problem fans I want us to do something about it and get rid of them.
If the clubs doing something about it, then fantastic, we should congratulate the club. If the clubs not then why not?
Ultimately if we have a higher percentage of numpties then that’s very sad.

These banning orders are imposed by the courts not the club. I assume the conviction/banning order is sort by the club if the offences occur inside the ground?

There are no bans from trouble at home according to the article so Bristol Rovers aren't likely to be doing anything about it. A few people I know were banned last season and it was the club we travelled to that pushed for the bans. Their season cards still work too although other people have been using them instead. I'm sure if away fans played up at the Mem it would be our clubs duty to sort it out.
