Torquay losing 4-2 to Alfreton. All in all not a bad day with nearly all the top teams dropping points. We keep our unbeaten run going too.

Could have done with a win tbh looking at other results, but considering the balance of play, we can't complain. At least we haven't lost any ground.

Turkey lost then, that's good along with Barnets draw and puts us top of the form table based on last 8. Still think they and Barnet are the teams most likely to go up, along with us of course

We are two players short of winning this league with room to spare. A proper striker and a decent inventive midfielder or winger. Cant believe im saying that after all the schenanigans pre season.

I suppose DC felt Taylor and White would be the striker we needed then Balanta gets injured.
To be fair, DC hasn't been far off with what we have.

I thought the white signing was odd with his fitness an injury issue same with Balanta.

To be fair Dins both player's when fully fit will be a handful in the conf. White was excellent at this level but has had a lot of serious injuries and weight problems. Balanta has barely played football in over a year and is also overweight. Hopefully he will come into the team and show us something. For me this season is a one year project to get out this league at the first attempt before the huge cut in income on year two in the conf. As such i wanted a squad prepared and fully ready to go from the off. Thats where i have consistently been critical of DC whatever happens from here i stand by that view. DC had a very slow start But has managed to wrestle some good results out of us. I hope we get those last one of two players in so we can build a good lead at the top come the new year.

it just goes to show what we can do even when we aren't playing great. some other teams are dropping points and dropping them in positions you wouldn't expect them to, and/or against teams you wouldn;t expect them too.
imagine where we might be if we were a really good side.

Totally agree, with only one team going up if we can be there or there abouts come January and then make the changes to take us on to the next level we will be in a good position. I'm also happy most of the new guys are in 1 year deals so we can get top end league 2 or even league 1 quality players after our promotion :-). I believe if we had taken a punt and paid good wages on a decent goal scorer like Forest Green we would be top. You only have to look at the points dropped over the last 4 games.

Can't disagree with you Dinsdale but do we really want to be top in early October? As they say you don't win anything in October and to be in the position we are in with the squad we have at present is in all honesty probably a great position to be in. I would say we already have a squad that is capable of the Play Offs as a minimum and maybe more as there is still the possibility of White and Balanta coming good. I think Clarke has done remarkably well to get us into this position and whilst many would say,and I would probably agree we are not playing well we are in fact playing well enough to get results in every game we play.

Id rather be top then 4th any month of the year :-). Im still to be fully won over on DC as i was really dissapointed in his performence last season and our state of readiness for this season. Also with 1 win in 4 i hope we are not starting to go off the boil. That aside to turn around such a desperate situation only a couple of months ago to a side pushing for promotion is a very good effort indeed. Some of his signings that at first looked like mistakes are really coming into their own. Trottman and Mansell for instance. Im the first to admit im very harsh on DC but i have very high expectations for this season and im still to get over what happened last season.
