In case you missed it, Lee Mansell and Bristol Rovers Community Trust were featured on the box last week, discussing the work that we are doing as a club to help those with mental health issues. Lee was happy to discuss some the issues that he has encountered during his transition from full-time playing into his new coaching role. We'd like to thank Lee for helping us with the work that we do at the Trust and for being able to speak about his experiences. We are working with the NHS with their 'recovery through sport' project, helping mental health patients with weekly football sessions and off the back of our recent 'Feeling Blue? & White' event at The Mem last Month, the BBC have produced a feature that was broadcast on Points West last Friday. If you missed it, click on the link below to see the full video report. UTG! #4Quarters1Community www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/46407566

Worth highlighting this to some of the idiots who post vitriol on here.

I believe its fairly common for footballers to struggle when they stop playing,i think bobby jones for example found it hard to cope when he retired from playing. I went to development game at yate town and after the game lee mansell was trying to get to a couple of footballs stuck in the trees on the far side of the pitch. Nothing wrong with that of course but its a bit of a come down from being captain of the first team.

Love Manse. Apart from a certain penalty, he scored he ,was epic at Mansfield when he stood up to extreme provocation both on and off the ball like a true captain. Some ex City player was committing awful stuff off the ball and was rightly sent off.Late winner;Ollie to James Clarke to Snakey.Gosling came on late and ran riot. We had a loan goalie that day who missed the ball with his dive for their goal by 5 minutes!!!!!

I’m a bit too old to have favourite players , but manse is most definitely one of my favourite to ever pull on the quarters , absolute top pro and ran through walls to get us out the conference , the word legend is bounded about a bit much nowadays but to me he falls under that category, how we need a manse in our current set up!!!!

It was portsmouth players that booted them into the trees, trouble is it was our footballs as we were at home.

Only just seen this. I have to say whilst I've been a big critic of the owners/board recently, I definitely would be remiss not to acknowledge that some excellent stuff does go on at Rovers, not least the Community Trust which appears is doing some amazing work. Sort of thing that makes me proud to be a Gashead, even if we may be sorely lacking in major infrastructure.
Well done guys, keep up the great work!
