Anyone play? Started a Rovers career last night. Didn't sign anyone permanently but got Will Keane on loan who's scored a few for me already. Sold Smith to Derby for 325K and Nichols to Burton for 275K, with each potentially rising by another 50K. Wanted Ward from Pboro as competition for Leadbitter but couldn't match the wages in time and the window ended. Started with a 1-1 draw away to Pboro, but won the next 5 without conceding. Not been on bad form but not too sure who's realistically possible to sign with 295K(which includes the 50K budget I was allowed to start with and 245K allocated from sales). Oh and Joe Martin is a quality left back on the game lmao. Attachment Deleted

I started as Bath for a bit of a challenge. Ryan Brunt is an absolute beast!

I'm into my fifth Rovers season and 17th in the PL after six games. Came second first season, lost two straight play-off finals in ET after a red card and finally romped the Championship last season. Still have Lockyer (still my skipper but now on £25k p/w LOL) but that's it. Sir Rickie is U18s Manager - happy days.
Ps. first thing I did was sack Tommy.

Sounds like you're all realistic candidates to replace DC.

I do! My first and current save is with Rovers, got promoted in 2nd place - 2 points behind Barnsley - and currently we're 6th in the Championship with 15 games in.
First season, I signed Ro-Shaun Williams from Man Utd, Brendon Galloway from Everton, Thibaud Verlinden from Stoke and Matt Butcher from Bournemouth, all on loan deals. Rest of the team is the same we have now.
The team is set up in a 4-1-2-3 formation, might post the actual screenshot when I get home
Smith as a regular GK
Partington as a supporting fullback Craig as a central defender Lockyer as a ball playing defender THD/Galloway as an attacking wing back
Lines/Clarke as a deep lying DM playmaker Sercombe as an attacking central midfielder Upson/Butcher as a box-to-box midfielder
Bennett/Verlinden as a proper right winger Rodman as an inside forward from the left
Payne as a false nine - and it works, he's still my main #9 even in the Championship
Second season, I sold some peeps and signed some more, highlights being Will Keane (striker) and Tom Holy (GK). Also, Josh Bailey and James Spruce from the Development Squad evolved nicely along Season 1 - I play the kids on occasion - and because of that are getting much more involved in Season 2
Currently the team is the same in tactics, but the lineup is
Holy
Partington Williams Lockyer THD
Clarke Matthews (he evolves A LOT) Butcher/Jordan Cousins
Sullay Kaikai Rodman/Angel Gomes
Payne/Keane

Top of league 1 with 10 games left of the season. Our squad is better than last seasons FM. Last years most of our players were average league 2 standard or good conference where as this year they’re mostly considered league 1 in the report screen.

All gone a bit too Rovers for me since posting this thread. After 6 unbeaten conceding 1 and winning 5 I've lost the next 6. 28 shots and 68% possession against Bradford who had 6 shots and I lost 2-1. Seem to be the better team by quite a margin in all these losses tho so it's only a matter of time before I turn it around??
First full version of the game I've played since 2008, played mobile for a few years which was much more to my style with how simple and quick I can get through a season.

I used to play these games when I was single....
Now this is a serious question.... Is it possible to play fm19 whilst being in a relationship?

Make sure your attacking tactics are with Work ball into box otherwise they tend to shoot from everywhere. Also do the same with your players individual intstrctions even your attackers. Less shots but better chances.

Less shots but better chances. Can't stress this enough. Been doing that since FM12 I think. Reduce distance shooting as much as possible. Even players with high Long Shots attributes tend to smash a home run 90% of the time, wasting what could be a perfectly good opportunity to try and build an actual play
Also mariobalotelli make sure your players aren't showing complacency on the match reports/half-time team talks, sometimes winning a lot makes them sloppy. I also rotate the team A LOT, so it can also keep them on their toes

Tell them to warn against complacency, it could all change etc. It might upset one player , if it does then tell them individually that they’re playing well and they’ll probably be happy again if not it’s still worth it.

I had an addiction to FM 2007 and 2008. You guys are seriously tempting me to return to FM after all these years. Damnit, and I had my life under control for so long...

Finally got round to buying this years version yesterday, been paying since championship manager on the amiga back in '92, been getting progressively worse as the years go on, probably due to less time spent playing. Going to load it up now and get going

Is there a classic version available for FM19?
CM01/02 has always been my go to but quite tempted to acquire a copy of FM19 after reading this.

There's FM 19 Touch, it's a "watered-down" (for lack of a better term) version with much simples dynamics etc for people who may feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff you have to do now lol. It comes with FM itself iirc

I keep getting put off of doing a Rovers save because our team knowledge is almost non existent, i went on to the editor and all of our u23's and 18's the profiles are basically blank, no potential ability range or current, no pref foot, height, weight D.O.B are all blank so will be randomly generated in game and it really irritates me.
That plus our first team is really average with no one with any value to sell and hardly any wage budget to play with, but i could live with that if we had a few Bristol born gems in the youth ranks to train up, does any one know who our best young players are and how highly rated they are future level wise, i already kno about Luke Russe but that seems about it,

Got promoted first season, five years in the Championship (three straight play-off final defeats before eventually reaching the promised land) and now I'm an eight-time PL champion, three-time CL winner with seven FA Cups and five League Cups plus more in 2039. Great game, I love it. But I've invested far too much time into it as you can see
