He's gone - totally out of his depth in this league, he's left us with a poor team that has relegation written all over it - move on and support the next Manager whoever he is - he's going to need all the luck and support going to get us out of this mess. A mess created solely by Mr Tinkerman and his inadequacies - IMO he should have gone months ago. He'll move on to his next club with a big fat wedge in his back pocket (thank you very much BRFC) - the price for failure. Do I feel sorry for him - not at all - I'm sure he'll have a lovely Xmas. Why don’t you read TL’s comments about what he did for the club.He certainly didn’t leave the club laughing because he had cash in his pocket. We were on the floor staring at a long period in non league. As a Gashead I am reallu quite ashamed of your comments, but not surprised. A right fickle lot football fans. Look at all the people asking for Holloway back another manager driven out by supporters and now the answer to our problems.

Pretty sure DC said the Leeds contract would have set him up for life, but that the future was looking bright here concerning infrastructure etc and so he stayed as he still believed he could take the club further. Think you'll find the comment he made was aimed at MT and his contract. The MT situation and the DC situation were totally different time frames.

Yet another thread hijacked for petty squabbling. Yes, it would be great to have a way to thank DC - thanks for your kind offer Parrot

Wow, a rather entitled fella we have here. DC won 2 promotions- whether you liked him or not that’s worth a “thank you” This thread wasn’t set up to bring debate about the decision. It was to say thanks- Im thirty, I only have strong memories of Holloway onwards and thus I can only remember promotions under Trolls and DC. Quite Frankly without DC-I might have lost interest. With 1 promotion and 2 relegations in 15 or so years before I’d be forgiven for chucking in the towel. Its hard to defend his recent record. And as much as I’d kept him on. I understand and accept the otherside. But I don’t get what offends another Gashead about wanting to wish the man well. You seem bitter and (assumptious) that DC is getting a big payoff: - this is an assumption, not fact. - if true; good for him, he earnt it. He could’ve had more money at Leeds but stayed. There weren’t many sane people saying that contrac5 was anything but right. Not the slightest bit bitter - I feel the whole system is immoral where Managers are fired - and invariably fired for failure and then walk away with huge sums of money - money put into the club by the punters - and in particular by clubs like ourselves who haven't got a pot to water in. Of course I wish DC well but his time was was up at our club. You've endured at 2 promotions at least BTW not 1 - I've endured a lot more with relegations to boot and have never comtemplated walking away or "expected to be forgiven for chucking in the towel" as you so eloquently put it. I've stayed with my club for over 60 years and intend to carrying on doing so - but it's a results business. I intend supporting the next Manager and giving him a chance whoever he is unlike some on here who are already prejudging who they will support and who they won't. How do know he would have had a better contract at Leeds - an assumption not fact maybe? Whatever sum of money Darrell Clarke walked away from Rovers with was not enough. Punters money as you call it, the ones who enjoyed two promotions and a Wembley visit. If it not for Darrell Clarke and his team where would we be? Still on the conference or worse still? Who knows but he doesn’t deserve nothing but respect in my eyes. I think it’s time to show a bit of respect and remember Clarke for what he achieved at Rovers and move on and give our support to the next poor bugger.
