when I get down about football / rovers, one thing that either helps me (or maybe even gets me downer - yes, that's not a real word.....) is the fact that football players earn a lot of money. even at our level. people chuck around figures like £2k a week as if that is nothing. That is £104,000 a year, about 4 x the national average wage - maybe the wage of you and me, whilst we try to feed our families and afford the stupid Dam rents this country breeds. Certainly the wage on many traditional football fans.
so, don't lose too much sleep over players. even the decent ones.

They’ve let themselves down as well. The final remnants of DCs side will be dismantled now.

I absolutely seethe when I see people talk about the pressure of being a manager, being in a job where you will walk away with a pay off isn't pressure - being made redundant through no fault of your own and having to live on £2 a day is pressure, being sent to work in a war zone and trying to stay alive is pressure. Football is so disconnected from reality at times it's unreal. So yes, I won't be losing any sleep for the players either and with due respect to DC I doubt he will be unable to put food on the table either.

I'd suggest that new players this season have failed to integrate in the spirit that was built over the previous 3-4 years.
Must be difficult for the majority of them given how poor they have been!

Some in this squad need a bloody good look at themselves in the mirror this morning. You’re right Hugo but they won’t because they feel they don’t need to. Players keep on picking up very, very good wages even in league 2 and they keep getting paid whilst managers get sacked. After our relegation in 14 we kept Mildy, Macca, Lockyer, OC and a few others who had the right attitude and replaced others with players who had a really good attitude. Unfortunately in league 1 the recruitment has not been as good attitude-wise. They may be good players but the attitude of a good few of them hasn’t been what we needed. UTG!

Lockyer was in the Brass Pig on the water after the 4-0 hammering by Donny.
Says it all.
Back to the days of Trollope it seems.

Give Menayese a chance. New manager does need to be a motivator though, fire the players up, i want to feel that in the interviews anyway, not a stop gap excuse making sort.

Some in this squad need a bloody good look at themselves in the mirror this morning. But will they see anything when they do? Most of them have been invisible all season.

Exactly, with MKD he'd be more likely to be playing L1 football next season than if he stayed with us. Sad but true in my view.

if he played them in the correct position and did not chop and change every week they would have more understanding of each other dc has nobody to blame other than himself
