i suspect that DC was about to blow the lid on the regime at Rovers and the politics and confines such as signing players he has not chosen. Not for their skills but because of the affordability.I have been on gas for 65 years and seems we are back to square one A question mark must hang over the staff who have the power of free speech to curtail
the career of possibly the best manager and assistant we have had.It surely it's not just
some players that need moving on but the backroom staff who have such power to censor
comments that may not be agreeable.Any names spring to mind?

Looking back on the last DC interview, when he says 'my signings haven't been good enough' the writing was on the wall I guess.
He couldn't keep working with those signings after he said they aren't good enough?
Hopefully things get freshened up quickly. I'd take Holloway til the end of the season

Where's your proof he hasn't chosen the players? If DC's such a good manager why have we had to watch such poor football for the best part of a year the pre-season games were a total embarrassment. Posters on here recently are like parents of kids, can't see that they have failings and just are looking to blame the teacher or sports coach etc rather than facing the truth they aren't that good.

I expect they will assassinate him. I expect the Rovers owners are part of such a massive global conspiracy that they can literally make water flow uphill and make black white and white black. I think only a few brave Gasheads can see through their machiavellian machinations and only they stand in the way of Dwane conspiring to get us back into the conference for reasons that are so hard to understand no one will actually be able to explain it on the internet, but rest assured it's all true and anyone who believes anything the board says is just a mindless sheeple plodding towards the abattoir of relegation.
And I doing it right?

I expect they will assassinate him. Was thinking exactly the same. If I was Clarke, I`d give grassy knolls a wide berth.

U'mmm the fact that we have lost 4 league games on the trot plus the fact we are 4 points adrift in a relegation place didn't have anything to do with it??? FFS

People can be pro-DC whilst also admitting that he had made mistakes with recruitment and we've had a poor 1st half of this season. I certainly don't think he was perfect by any means. That doesn't mean I'm glad to see him go, I'm gutted and I wanted to give him more time to turn it around after everything he's done for us prior to this season. It's sad that in football all it takes is a poor few weeks or months, for everything good that went before it so be conveniently brushed aside as irrelevant because it's in the past. I love my family and my fiance, and I'd stand by them through almost anything, but that doesn't mean I think they're perfect, nobody is. Those of you who wanted DC gone, OK that's your opinion, but don't paint it that all fans that are upset to see him go all blindly think the sun shone out of his arse 24/7.

DC is no different to most in employment in the football world. He worked with what he had, it didn't work out. It was clearly taking its toll on him personally so he walked away,no doubt with a very nice severance package.
Although he had an affection for the club he won't be breaching the clause in the leaving agreement for the benefit of the fans. He'll take the clubs money and keep his thoughts to himself for the benefit of himself and his family's future.
I don't blame him and good luck in the future.
I'm no fan of the sentimentality that has surrounded his departure, minutes applause etc. He was a great bloke employed by the club that ultimately came up short.
More importantly no one is as big as the club and we will soon move on. All the conspiracy theories that abound here are becoming bizarre. The AQ'S bought a football club from a bloke who had run out of ideas and money to take it any further. They're having a go and think that the way forward is to run it on sustainable grounds.
Until someone else throws their hat into the ring they're all we've got. Good luck to them.
We're not in bad place. A relagation fight to win, managers keen to come here and a place, albeit rough around the edges, to call home.
We've been in worse spots and come through. Particularly the dark days after the Eastville fire and come back and we will again.
A good effort today then on to the future.UTG

Cheers.

If you continually sell your star players and replace them with inferior ones you will eventually run out of luck. It’s been the Bristol Rovers DNA for decades now and I think many felt the arrival of our current owners would see an end to this. However, we are the same old rag bag Rovers we always have been, albeit with a somewhat over blown management structure. Hopefully Knowall’s prediction of great things will arrive, but if not we will be in for a tough time in League 2 should we go down and struggle.
