Very emotional statement from a top manager, so sorry it ended the way it did. But like DC we move on and hopefully bump into him in happier times for both parties. UTG and UDC!

Reading that, I don’t see how even the “DC out” brigade (and the DC haters - if there is such a thing) could not admit that he is actually a “genuinely top bloke” and willing to learn from what he appears to acknowledge were some of his own mistakes. It is, as many have already stated, a classy response.
I look forward to reading comments from the DC out team on this thread, but like DC, we should try and keep it classy and respectful.

Still truly devestated to have lost this man from our football club. To me he was more than just the manager, he encapsulated everything I could want from someone in charge of the club. A brilliant role model.
Absolutlely top bloke that's given us memories that will last a life time. Will always follow your undoubtedly successful career closely, and hope that some time in the future we cross paths again. Thank you DC, you will be missed.

I just hope the current owners of BRFC realize what a monumental mistake they have made before they get the F##k out ! It was the right time for him to go, think even DC will admit that. He will always be a legend, but sometimes manager's go off the boil for some reason. You could see he needed a break and it was easy to see that we would struggle this season, before a ball was kicked. The squad was unbalanced made up of mainly midfielders and lacked pace. We started without a left back for the first god knows how many games. DC might come back stronger after a break, but he needed that break. I hope he has success after a break from football and I will always remember the videos of him, him running towards the fans at Wembley etc. But it wasn't a mistake to get rid of him know. If it wasn't for his past, he would have gone months ago, you can't keep him, just in case he turns out around. I wouldn't have had faith in him anymore, especially in the transfer market. So you can't keep someone you no longer trust. Impossible to say those things as a statement of fact as we will never know. I personally believe he would have kept us up and the summer break could have sorted him out. His recruitment this season has been dire but going into the summer that would have been handled by TW and the board. Think the behind the scenes stuff was taking its toll but hopefully that gets sorted for whoever replaces him. The players hadn't downed tools and I would have given him until then to sort it. That said after his public slating of the board the writing was on the wall. Let's hope they are more up front with their plans for the club so this scenario doesn't repeat itself.

Top bloke and nice statement but Saturday is fast approaching - Creating a positive atmosphere and backing the boys needs to be our focus now! Come on you blues! UTG! Goodnight Irene DC. 💙

I'm not moving on yet. Can't get past it really. Absolute quality guy, professional, committed, determined and always put his hands up. The rest of the set-up stays as it is, surely there are many more in the club that need to check out. Stewie did the honourable, maybe some of the management need to start putting their bloody hands up and become accountable.
I'd reverse the decision and let him have a couple of weeks off and come back refreshed.

Legend and top class bloke. Thanks for the great times 😊 and the only manager in our history who has back to back promotions and we were on course for three in a row until Mr Taylor was robbed from us.

Yes it has been a very difficult season so far, but let's not forget if it was not for DC we could still be in the conference, and for this alone we will always be very grateful that he came along shook all the players up and built a team with a great spirit that ran right through the club. If you ever come back to the Gas as an opposing manager a great reception awaits you. we will always be in your debt. thanks for the memories.

Mark Cooper, manager of FGR, seems to think we will go down the foreign route...
FOREST GREEN boss Mark Cooper insists sacked Bristol Rovers manager Darrell Clarke will be back to work sooner rather than later.
Clarke has left his role as manager of Bristol Rovers after four-and-a-half years in charge.
Having overseen their relegation from the EFL in 2014, Clarke guided Rovers to successive promotions to League One.
Cooper said: "They’ll (Bristol Rovers) probably go and get a foreign manager and if you ask most British managers in the EFL they have to go through an awful lot of time and expense to get their coaching qualifications and it takes years and years.
"Any foreign manager can come in and take one of our jobs and I’m not sure we can do that in their lower leagues.
“It’s disappointing for Darrell Clarke he's done a brilliant job at Bristol Rovers in a really frustrating season for him, and I’m sure he’ll be back in work."
Bristol Rovers statement said: "After much soul-searching and lengthy deliberations it has been mutually agreed that it is probably in the best interests of the club and of Darrell Clarke to seek a fresh way forward," said a Bristol Rovers statement.
"Darrell will remain a friend of the club and will no doubt achieve further success in his career after a deserved break.
"The board is expecting substantial interest in the vacant manager's role and an appointment will be made as soon as practical."
A further statement added that outgoing number two Marcus Stewart had "asked to be released from his contract" and the club had "reluctantly agreed".

Well Flynn is Welsh I suppose The ironic thing is, FGR has to be one of the potential clubs he could end up at if FGR were to start going backwards.

Aside from Midlands and that one "back to back promotions was lucky" bloke, I don't think anyone has a problem with DC being a club legend. He did things for us that managers with CVs three times as big couldn't, and he brought with him unmatched team spirit as well. We can disagree with the DC Out brigade on this season but his status is cemented IMO

Not exactly the statement that some expected, where DC blows the lid on the behind the scenes shenanigans. Exposing lies at every corner of the corridors of power.
A nice statement that hopefully reflects on a generally happy time he had at our club. I'm sure he'll always be welcome back. Unless of course he ever manages at the other place.
Good luck
