This is the point though. Asking for players with specific qualities is easy when you don't actually have to sign them yourself. Fans saying why doesn't he sign...*insert qualities of top Premier league player*... seem to suggest it is as simple as doing a Championship manager skills search. Pretty much anyone you get at this level will have their limitations. My point is the signings were there when we got the players in to get promoted twice and we’re not replacing them with the same standard and paying more money doing so... Our league 2 promotion team would thump our current team... No one is asking for premiership or even championship players because we’re not in that position to do so...there’s loads of players out there that we need in this team... We’ve gone from a very dominant wing attacking team to being a very narrow very predictable team and dc for some reason couldn’t work that out or completely changed his game plan and it blatantly didn’t pay off We have forwards that can’t keep the ball as their not strong enough or intelligent enough to have good link up play and to top that they don’t get themselves in scoring positions enough We have central midfielders playing out wide and there no understanding between any partnerships as they were being chopped and changed to many times A defence that’s small and couldn’t pass a ball to feet or actually have a game plan on the ball than thump it diagonal to the opposition which for one obviously gives the ball away but not only that drags the whole team out of position Apart from bonham which won’t be here long as getting a lot of attention due to his form Smith is useless to me and nowhere near me reliable and needs to go So the players we need don’t need to have premiership qualities , they just need the opposite to what we have and the same level to what we had before we sold them Yea your point still isn't addressing mine though. Your description of the centre back we should sign was Prem quality hence the joke about VVD. So now how do you intend to sign players who are the "opposite of what we have and the same level to what we had before". The "dominant wing attacking team" included a lot of players that were heavily critisised or that are still in the first team/ squad now. So not the opposite but what they were before? Same level as Bodin, Harrison and Taylor?

Yes same level as Taylor/bodin/Harrison and it’s doable...there’s centre backs iin league 1 & 2 that could fit what we need, they might not be amazing at all qualities but would be an improvement on what we have... I personally would cash in on Lockyer as in my opinion would get the most money and could be replaced easier than say sercombe, We should have bought the likes of sonny Bradley when he was at the muff as he’s a better centre back than locks...

Why would Sonny Bardley have ever chosen Rovers over Luton even if we had tried to sign him? The fact they are now second pushing for promotion just shows what can be achieved with a bit of ambition, as their ground is really no better than the Mem.

Serious response: Slocombe - out Smith - out Bonham - keep Andre - keep Leadbitter - out Partington - keep with some passing drills Kelly - keep Holmes Dennis - keep Martin - out Broadbent - want to see more - keep Craig - keep Lockyer - keep Clarke - out (sorry mate) Menayese - want to see more - keep Kilgour - give until summer to prove himself elsewhere Matthews - keep Rodman - out Bennett - keep Upson - out Lines - keep Clarke - keep Sinclair - out. Sercombe - keep Russe - keep Payne - keep - give proper game time on understanding he sheds some weight after main training session. Nichols - keep - move to wing or attacking midfield Reilly - keep - give a chance Jakubiak - keep Mensah - out
Not many outs but I don't think we have been a million miles away. We're suffering from the heebie jeebies caused by the lack of strikers able to make a difference, causing undue pressure on our midfield players to score goals which is why they're hitting the post all the time. A lot of people have called for Bennett to go but to keep Alex Rodman. Yes Bennett has been going a little bit missing but so did Billy from time to time. He's hit the post about 4 or 5 times this season and if you remove the pressure I've suggested up above perhaps those would be converted. Difference between him and Rodman is he's better on the ball, a little younger, and he's hitting the post instead of blazing the ball into the sodding corner flag. So. We have a lack of strikers able to make a difference - but you want to keep Payne, Nichols, Reilly and Jakubiak? Bit difficult to follow your reasoning , there.

Reilly and Jak haven’t really been given a chance. Payne has generally played with Nichols, who I suggested stick in midfield instead. Bring two new goal scorers in.

Why would we play a crap striker in midfield? Is he better than Sercombe? No. Lines? No. Clarke? No. Bennett? No. Any of our midfielders? No. A crap striker isn't a good midfielder it's just a crap striker.

Hmmm ... that's still not a reason to start him in midfield. He's just sh1te and not what we need- in any role. I just want him out of the club.

Nichols should of been playing reserve team football months ago and getting nowhere near the first team until he showed some ability to put the ball in the onion bag.
Then the likes of Reilly, Jakubiak, Telford would have got their chance, and maybe would of struck up a partnership with the likes of Payne or Gaffney.
