Has anyone else got a new least favourite poster on here? Knowall? If this had come off he’d have been right.

Reading that to me it sounds like it was going to be one development, training ground next to stadium. I wonder if that means they don't want to build at the colony, or it just happened that this site could fit both and would mean the colony could be sold. That possibility would certainly explain why the Colony isn't being developed.

If you're inclined to believe what they say then they say something worthwhile; they're committed to the club, and they really were pursuing a stadium/training round option that has since failed. If you're not inclined to believe what they say, then complaining about what they have said seems churlish. Can only take it at face value and they have reiterated they are committed, looked at something and its fallen through If you dont trust them, then of course it offers nothing of value I am uncertain on the owners now, but can only go by what they say

What the f**k so you expect them to say? Make up that they've got a site lined up? They don't speak they are slated, they speak they are slated. f**k sake they can't win. 0 Agreed....its fair to say some on here only want good news when it's comes to communication. For the last 40 years we've been messed around by the local authorities and outside investors and now the AQ'S are finding out what it's like trying to drag this area into the 21st Century. Their only crime seems to be not releasing an artists impression for the front page of the Evening Post to add to the collection.

Of course they could be lying but I do wonder if they're actually being honest - if they are it's possibly good (or bad in some ways) as it would show at least that they are genuinely trying to move the club forward (which I didn't think they were) - just obviously dissapointing that whatever it was seems to have fallen through.
So yes, a bit dissapointing but - oddly enough - I actually feel slightly more positive following that statement.
Fingers crossed.

Is this the truth or are the owners buying time to appease the fans ?

I feel this might be a beer and peanuts thread, but it's too early so it'll have to be tea and toast.
Right. Off we go.

Is it bad luck? Or are they poor negotiators?
Or, are they hyping up a possibility that was going nowhere anyway?
I suspect the latter. It's fallen through so why wouldn't you name the location?. I suspect, realising they have lost the fan base, they felt they needed to say something. Amateur hour communications I think.

Is this the truth or are the owners buying time to appease the fans ? This is the big question, isn't it? The thing is, if it is the truth, then everything else that has happened over the last two years makes complete sense. If it's not true, then their entire ownership doesn't make sense, their plans don't make sense, the Colony issue doesn't make sense, their continued ownership doesn't seem to make sense. Their buying time for what? that doesn't make sense, either.

IF all true and they have been working on a major project that A) they have been suspected of not doing and B) had just fallen through at a frustratingly late stage (ie late enough to have spent considerable funds chasing it) then I'd be absolutely gutted and would want to shoot it out from the rooftops too!
"IF" of course!

I’m now curious as to which rumour was the “true” one that has fallen through: UWE, Colony or Filton or . . . Funded by Jordanians, EW consortium or Southampton builders or . . .

Fair enough, they have finally spoken - however, if it's all fallen through could they not reveal the location now? That would put some meat on the bones as to whether they are serious about a new stadium etc.

So if the Colony had been shelved due to the possibility of this new development that has now fallen through, it begs the question why did Hamer state that the Colony had been shelved due to the costs being higher than they anticipated? Or could that be why they now are looking for all-in stadium and combined training ground sites.
So many questions and it would be interesting to know (hypothetically of course) who else is involved that the confidentiality arrangements are with.

Not sure if Soton based but something I kept to myself was a building consortium coming in and lalalala - heard it from an ITK friend who doesn’t get his info from Gaschat et al.

Reads to me that a combined stadium and training ground would be the suggestion of a revised UWE and shared adjacent training facilities that some have put forward, but that if fell through.
The timings would tie up with Knowall's end of year guesstimate and his sudden change of heart.
Disappointed another plan fell through, but it does confirm their intentions and fingers crossed there is another option they can start. Still more time and expense lost, though.

I simply don’t believe a word that anyone from the club says. I’m not moaning about the statement , I simply think the lot of them are full of sh** and I don’t think they’ve been pursuing anything , I think this statement is to take some heat off the owners and buy them a little more time, like I’ve said for a while , I have no trust in the board whatsoever. One false dawn after another , if they really were astute businessmen with plans to progress our facilities and really had the funds available we would of seen something positive in regards to our new ground , revamped mem or training ground by now.
