I really think he’s our best option up front that’s on the books but I see rumours starting he could be shipped out in jan to a league 2 club to bring some cash...surely that’s got to be Nichols going to Exeter instead for some money in...Gavin shows passion and a good understanding of positions to get himself in to score and works his arse off defending his areas too.. Give him some game time and I think he’s the sort of player to get us 15 plus goals a year...

If he wasn't brought down he would of been clean through against the Barton dirty boys too, which some how the ref didn't see.

Surely Nichols sold and a decent target man bought with the money and Reilly to feed off him...Only we could f**k up anothef good player disappearing for peanuts... We should have bought Telford and offered stoke a fee for sweeney and looked at selling Lockyer at a top price...
Broadbent/sweeney partnership would be a great combination and both with years ahead of them
Keep Reilly no matter what for me and can’t see the point in selling him...

Reilly leaving would be insane, the guy is a dangerous striker the most lethal finisher in the club.

That’s because their defender got the slightest touch on the ball before it took out Reilly, it was a very good challenge.

The Lockyer and Sweeney partnership leaked goals last year but it was hard to tell who was more off form between them. Locks can do no wrong though and kept his place regardless because it hardly improved when Broadbent played with him, Clarked played with him or when Craig came in either. The fact no other L1 club took Sweeney on says he’s probably at his level for now and was one of Clarke’s improver targets.

It was a wonderfully timed challenge.

Glad your just a poster and not our manager as you would have signed a Sweeney, who's only considered good enough for Div 2, and played him alongside Broadbent who neither DC or GC consider is good enough for Div 1. As far as selling Nichols, what other league club is going to risk their money on a non scoring striker most likely on decent Div 1 wages?

I think not giving Reilly a proper chance was a mistake by Darrell.
He now deserves a run in the team to try and score some goals. Cause let’s face it Payne/Nichols aint

Would be very disappointed to see Reilly leave ahead of Payne & Nichols.

The way Reilly challenged for his headed goal against Fleetwood deserves a chance to prove himself Nicholls would not even attempted a challenge for the ball let alone scoring a goal

If you watch the opposition back 4 and your notice at this level they all can play out from the back successfully and build from their and both Broadbent and sweeney can do this but locks and craig are both shocking at it and is a big part of our problems...saying sweeney isn’t league one quality isn’t really valid as he never got a good run in the team second time around with dc pulling players names out of hats again on match day. Stoke obviously think he’ll be higher than league 1

Most of our play that was built from the back successfully came from browner and nows he’s moved on and leads has become a shadow of himself with no confidence we have resorted to thumping it too either our 2 options of small centre forward or Payne who jumps if he feels like it...

Really like Reilly and as I’ve said before think he can become a Bannister type player - tenacious sniffer in the box type given a run in the team to build confidence and partnerships. His goal v fleetwood showed his awareness an ability to make his own chances
