I’ve no idea about the inner workings of recruitment at the club but if Bolger was signed for free being near the end of his contract at Fleetwood by Lincoln then it tellls me that we didn’t know about him being available for free which shows a level of naivity in our scouting and recruitment or we didnt want him, which I wouldn’t believe knowing and seeing how good he is. or we don’t have the money to give him an attractive contract. Whichever it is it does not fill me with any confidence that GC is going to be supported by the owners so I hope his motivational skills are maintained because we are going to have to achieve a lot with sod all money to get in the players we need. Alternatively I could be talking rubbish and our recruitment system is wonderful and there is plenty of financial support being given. UTG!

Perhaps but Bolger is a class act and IF he was available on a free then we have missed out on a very good player for this level with the potential to do well in the Championship. UTG!

No doubt Bolger is the sort of player we could make good use of. Having said that I would suggest our major problem is at the other end of the pitch and I sincerely hope that's where are recruitment priorities lie.

Bolger has been around a longtime in football terms and has yet to reach the dizzy heights of the Championship. There must be a good reason for that.

I think we're over complicating it it seems quite clear the gaffer wasn't going to be allowed to sign anyone before shipping players out. I don't envy GC's job.

Another signing
Barnsley have signed Yeovil Town winger Jordan Green for an undisclosed fee.
One in the division below I think will do well is Randall Williams to Exeter from Watford. He made 23 appearances for Wycombe this season, scoring three goals.

Accrington Stanley have re-signed defender Janoi Donacien on loan, only two weeks after he completed a reported £750,000 move to Ipswich Town.

I know one thing if Cotterell had been appointed manager things would probably have been different -- Then again with our board it was never going to happen. I wonder if they realise clubs around us are strengthening in order just to stay up ??.

Do the owners even no were ina relegation battle! Current squad wnt keep us up with some tough games ahead I must agree with you I'm afraid If we don't bring in a decent striker or two we will need the current strikers to start scoring and converting far more of the numerous chances they have been given up to now. Nothing I have seen so far convinces me that Reilly, Nichols and Payne can suddenly start scoring freely. If Nichols alone had despatched 20% of the chances he has had, we would be sitting pretty with at least ten more points than what we have now.

Oldham sign Urko Vera on a free. Be interesting to see how he gets on. Previously scored 45 goals in 170 games in the Spanish 2nd tier.
Also signed 6ft 4in centre back Sonhy Sefil.

George Moncur [Barnsley - Luton] Undisclosed Great signing, quality in this league is definitely going up. Do wonder what kind of wages these teams are paying!

A lot of teams in this league have owners willing to put their own money in and not worry too much about Financial Fair Play.

But we might have missed out on a good player because we have to wait whilst players are shipped out. Things are obviously tight!😉 UTG!
