When we were heading out the league BRSC made a very generous offer to fund a new striker. Does anyone know if they would be willing to do this now ?.
We are a decent striker away from promotion in a vital season and i hope the offer will be made again. Failure to go up would result in huge financial cuts and perhaps a lengthy spell in non league.

Just playing devils advocate but what chances were created on Saturday that suggest a new striker would have scored them.
Me thinks, as has been the case for years, that we do not have a midfielder who can create the chances.
I think some of the goals scored this season prove that if you give them service they will score. Our set play at times has been woeful and whereas we concede fair too many goals from corners we don't actually look like scoring from them.
Strikers need service

Good post. My point was similar, but i'd like to ask the OP - how much money do you think the SC has?

Enough to cover the wages of a Decent striker otherwise they would not have offered to do it. Pretty obvious answer.

Decent strikers can make their own chances but that aside i agree we lack creativity in midfield too.

If i can just say though, Is it an obvious answer? The supporters club now support the Youth set up, back in the day when they payed for Rambo that wasn't the case. On your other point....Have they offered to? You'll have to understand i'm not up to speed, and may take a while to acertain other posters ways and moods. I come in peace.

They offered to pay for a striker just before the window shut last season. Ward said we didnt need one. Im wondering if they will fund one to get us a better chance of promotion.

If we by-pass the midfield a lot of the time it's hard to demand that much from the midfield ! Our set plays have been a lot better than the last couple of seasons. Unfortunately we don't seem to get many headed goals from Trotman, Parkes and Cunny.

Lets hope somebody wakes up and smells the coffee, a couple of players in key positions could go along way in pushing us on.

Yes, 16 games in and the only game where you can say it was an easy win was Nuneaton at home and even then it was 2-1 half way through the second. Just really fear these 1 goal wins will soon become draws and the draws will become defeats particularly when we start playing top 10 teams again (oh no FGR Saturday !).

NH has said DC is aiming to bring one or two players in, in the next month or so. I presume we will be using the loan market; DC said pre-season he would use the loan market wisely ... loans so far have not been shabby!

We do need a creative midfielder to supply some decent service to our forwards, maybe DC is looking to bring one in, he did say he was going to strengthen the side. Our set plays so far have been the best we have seen for a long time, we certainly look as tho we are doing some good work on the training ground.
